Kristin, I walked Summit Cemetery today with Mr. Michael Winn, the caretaker, and he told me that Kyle didn't have a headstone & was buried next to his parents. I hope the photo of the empty lot next his parents meets with your approval.

I found Dorothy Grant. With her were:
R. Lawton Grant, Jr. 2/6/1907 - 8/31/1982
Jewel C. Grant 6/16/1887 - 3/8/1969
Robert L. Grant, Sr. 9/22/1877 - 2/9/1963
Would you please make memorial pages for them and send separate photo requests so I can upload my photos. Thanks.
They are in Sec 43, Lot 338

|BrideyLight||RE: George Washington Byard|
Thank you for your appreciation! So, I returned to the Byard/Meade Lot 12 today. George is definitely interred there, but I can definitely tell you that even though the fancy spire has a "Byard" side, there is no further inscription on it. I haven't checked, but perhaps George was the last in his family to pass away and no one saw to it that the marker was completed. I have to wonder how much money it would cost to send a stone mason (or other professional) there to inscribe his side of the spire. Two sides are filled (Emmie Byard Meade and Ezra L. Meade) and two sides are blank. Greta M. Flowers and James Flowers (military stone) are also in the Byard/Meade Lot 12, I think I recall they were husband and wife. What I will do is upload two really pretty lot shots to George's memorial for you in a couple of days once I edit the new photos I took today. I took some new lot shots with the church steeple in the background and I think they will come out really nice! Kind regards, Bridey Light

Dear Kristin: Well, it's getting interesting with George! I was so certain I had a photo of his side of the spire marker on the Byard/Meade lot, but, alas, I do not. One side of the spire is blank (possibly two sides are blank), on one side is Ezra L. Byard and on the fourth side is Emmie Byard Meade. I will be going to Ferndale Cemetery again soon and I will check the marker again, but I think George may not have a marker. However, the cemetery association confirmed to me that George is interred in this Byard/Meade lot, so he is definitely resting there. Ferndale Cemetery is a very historic and serene place and many tourists visit just to stroll amongst the beautiful grounds. I will let you know if I find anything further regarding a marker for George and I will keep his request active until I visit Ferndale Cemetery again. Kind regards, Bridey Light
Hi again, Kristin. Thank you so much for getting back to me with your info! It's wonderful that Nova Dell Gray/Harwell is still alive and well!! She would be my great aunt. Her mother Bettie Claxton (Gray) is my great grandmother. Bettie and William Lee Gray's son Carl Gray is my grandfather.
I'm not sure if Carl Gray and my grandmother Lillian Kasparian Gray were ever married (can't find that info yet), but Carl is on my father's birth certificate and I've heard about him all my life. We had a photo of him at one point. I would love to get another. Carl and Lillian had a son Don Gray, and my name is Laura Gray.
Unfortunately, my mother, father and grandmother Lillian have passed away, so it's difficult to now try to piece everything together without them. It would be fantastic if I might be able to communicate with that side of my family!
Do you, by any chance, have Nova Dell's email address, or should I try to contact her through Ancestry.com? I can send her my family tree and see if she, or anyone else in the family, might help me fill in some of the blanks. Boy, I'd LOVE some photos too!
Please let me know. Thank you so much, Kristin!!

Hi, Kristin. I've been researching my Gray family tree and came across what appears to be an obituary or newspaper article that was added by you for MELISSA S. GRAY, my 2x great grandmother.
Can you tell me anything more about that article: what newspaper, etc? I am also trying to get more info (and photos if possible) for Melissa's husband, John Matthew Gray, and their sons. If you could please help me with my family search. Thank you so much!!

I photographed all the other Grays nearby: his wife Verna and his two kids James Jr and Suzanne (Diegel -- as far as I can tell, her spouse, Baron Von Diegel, may still be alive).

Parents unlinked. Thank you for correction.

I was able to find your marker request, however it is really hard to read the moss has taken it over. I don't use any chemicals to remove it in fear of damaging the stone. I wasn't expecting to be in the area when taking the photo so I didn't have my soft brush to try and gently remove the moss that was growing on it. but it is her marker, I was also able to find her husband and one child which I added and photographed. They are all buried together in a single row.
