My name is Austin Alanson Searfoss. I'm an English language artist/educator from the Michigan/Ohio area. My Grandma and Grandpa Midtgard were two of the most influential people in my life, and after losing both of them, I decided that I wanted to know more about my family's roots. This site will help me learn more about my family, and I hope to help others connect with their relatives too.

 | Asa Piper Austin, I am interested in the connection between Asa Piper and Andrew J Piper (1848-1936), who is buried in Grandview Memorial Park in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California. I had been working on an hypotesis that his parents were Simon and Sarah Piper, found in the 1860 Census in Kosciusko County, Indiana. I located the Lenawee Michigan listing for Asa Piper in 1850, 1870, and 1880. Have you any other sources for Andrew J Piper? I don't know if you are aware that Andrew was a enlistee in the Michigan 11th Cavalry and transferred to the 8th Cavalry before mustering out in 1865.

 | Turrittin pics I've loaded the pics for Eli & Harriet and I was wondering if you were comfortable with assuming that the stone next to Francis was indeed Samuel?? and if so should I go ahead and fufill the photo request for him with a picture of the family plot and one showing the Francis stone with the broken one next to hers?? | | | Sandi Litzenberg
 | Francis & SamuelTurrittin Family Hi Austin.. I located Francis Turrittin for you and unfortunately, the stone next to hers, which I assumed to be her husband Samuel is broken down to the ground.. but I also wanted to let you know that beside their 2 stones was another Turrittin, Eli 1852-1923 and his wife Harriet E 1858-1932.. I thought maybe he was named after his grandfather Eli Oliver.. so I snapped a closeup pic of his stone as well as a plot pic to show location of graves.. If you want to creat a memorial for Eli & Harriet Turrittin.. I will load the picture for them. | | | Halla Graves

 | RE: Johnson Your Welcome. I just put the correct Latitude and Longitude on the comments. Somehow the first corrdinates were off on Dixon Rd. Google Maps and 41.911497, -83.689277 will show it just north of a big tree. "We really don't know who we are until we know where we come from". (Old Jewish Statement) | | | Sandra Eichner
 | Paul Auten at Ridgeway Hi again! Paul is on the cemetery index, I forgot his name is misspelled. I talked to Ron Miller and this is what he said-"His name is in the books as Paul Autero. Same birth and death date so we know it is him. He has no stone. His first wife harriet McCann you see there. His second wife Jerusha Cole is buried in Rice". So I will poke around and see if I can find it when I go there next. Sandra | | | Sandra Eichner
 | Paul Auten at Ridgeway Hi! I am entering Ridgeway on findagrave and see your request. The man that put him on,Ron Miller is my close cousin and I respect and trust his work. The problem is- I cannot find the stone for Paul in my files. I cannot find him listed in the cem. index either. But- that doesn't mean he's not there. The index is full of mistakes. I have Harriets stone and there is room next to her for a stone to be there, but unless it's buried, not is none. I have really went through that old section with a fine tooth comb. My next option is to take a rod and poke around and see if I can find it. Can you tell me if you have anything written that proves he's there? That would help alot. I'll keep your request open for if someone comes along that has a pic. Thanks! Sandra | | | | [View all messages...] |
