I love history and genealogy. While I am taking|
photos and helping others, I'm also walking for
I joined To Find a Grave in hopes someone would
return the favor to me in California in doing
a photo......I got the photo after searching 25 years for my relative!
You may use any photo that I post for your tree.
One good turn deserves another!

Thanks for the obit for Julius. My next job is to get control of his wife's memorial. Michael Hoffman is deceased.
I am a descendant of Phineas Bowers. My father was Gilbert M. Bowers from Arkansas and buried at Mount Olive, near Melbourne Ar.

You are more than welcome!
|P Fernandez & Family||RE: Emily Johnson|
I spent most of the evening doing some detective work on this Emily Johnson I have listed and I can assure you that she never lived or died in Johnson County, Indiana. She also never had a son named Ralph.
I updated her memorial with all the information I uncovered and her maiden name was Emily Jane Crapp, the daughter of John Crapp and Jane Hicks. She was married to John Orso Johnson.
I must say that I was surprised with the maiden name of Crapp. That was a first for me. I at first thought it was a typo in records but as I dug deeper it turned out to be the real name and spelling.
I always love a challenge and thank you for giving me one today. It is always fun. Good luck on your search for the Emily you are looking for. If I can be of any further help, do not hesitate to ask.
Have a Wonderful Day!

The transcribers for the Johnson County Cemetery Index 2000 got it wrong (they were remarkable but a few mistakes/typos will creep in). The headstone photo gives the name as Wilkes as does John's obit. I will tell Linda Talley at the Johnson County Museum of History so she can get a correction into her copies.
I have John's obits on the Johnson County INGenWeb Obit page. Here's the link:
You will probably need to copy and paste to get the url to work.
Feel free to use any or all of them.
A couple of devoted volunteers and I are transcribing Johnson County obits and posting them to this site. You might want to check now and then to see if we have anything of use for you.

I went to the cemetery office to make sure there was no record of a head stone for Bessie. I found out that the pauper section was not accurate on the cemetery map and I didn't search far enough. They told me they didn't think there was a headstone for her. I went back out to the cemetery with a better idea where to look. I found a flat stone for Bessie. I have attached it to the memorial for you.
