Bio and Links
Bio Photo A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Historic Licking Riverside Neighborhood of Covington, directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. One of my primary interests is researching the German immigrants who settled in the Ohio River Valley, especially the members of the Deutsche Pionier-Verein. My grandmother Luetta Deitchman Crenshaw cultivated an interest in our German heritage, and she was an active member and officer of the German-American Club Gesangverein in Louisville. When I lived in the Highlands Neighborhood of my hometown I would regularly visit St Louis Cemetery where my 4th-great-grandfather Johann Michael Hillerich (1795-1879) was buried. His father, his grandfather, his great-grandfather, and his 2nd-great-grandfather were all foresters and huntsmen for their kinsman Fürst Karl Thomas zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1714-1789), and Michael himself was a 3rd-great-grandson of Fürst Maximilian Karl zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1656-1718). Another notable German connection is through my 9th-great-grandmother Marthe Duval, Frau von Rocoulle (c.1655-1741) who was a Hofdame at the Berlin court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen (1688-1740) and Sophia Dorothea von Hannover (1687-1757) and was the Erzieherin of their son Friedrich der Große (1712-1786).

Find A Grave Memorial# 100176979
While researching my own family, I found that my 3rd great-grandmother's brother, a Civil War soldier from Ohio, died in Harrodsburg of typhoid at the home of J. W. & Sophia Cardwell. In a pension application, a letter from Cardwell with an interesting letterhead turned up. I added it to your memorial. If you don't find it to your liking, I can remove it. Let me know.

You've helped me in the past with your work on this website. Thanks for all that you do.

Bernard Von Wahlde
You were right. It was a duplicate. I added the info/photo to the other one and deleted mine. I guess it didn't come up when I searched as I didn't put a space between the Von & Wahlde.
