While I have always enjoyed wandering through old cemeteries, it wasn't until my daughter wanted to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) - thanks to the Gilmore Girls - that I started seriously researching my genealogy. As a 9th generation descendant of Philip Bossard, one of the first European settlers in northeast Pennsylvania, I have found that my roots go back to the earliest Dutch and German settlers in the New World colonies of New Amsterdam (New York), New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

I live in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and am always ready and willing to track down photos in the northern Valley (Strasburg to Winchester) and in the panhandle of West Virginia (Jefferson and Berkeley Counties).

Jabez Besse, Sr. FAG Mem #84554239
Steve, First--Thanks so much for the transfer of the Horatio and Charlotte Harrington memorials to me! Second, and I know this is a reach, do you recall if your photo posted for Jabez Besse (my 5th great grandfather) is of his actual stone, or just the general area of his stone? I'd like to post a request for a photo of his stone, but don't want to send someone off on a wild goose chase if it isn't there. Thanks for the help--and if I can ever return the favor, don't hesitate to contact me!! Kathy

Have you requested that the memorial for your ancestor #6051754 be transferred to you? It would be available since the owner is inactive. You do such a great job documenting your memorials, I wasn't sure if you knew about that one. Just send an email to info@findagrave.com and make the request stating your ancestor.

Thank you for your quick response and for the great picture of my family. I did not realize that it would have as much info on one stone. Again Thank you

This was a surprise. I want to thank you for being so gracious to take and photo of Townsend and Jessie Marcus' markers. I am always thankful for you volunteers that will help us "out-of-staters" out.

May you be blessed in the new year.

Joanne
