I found Find-A-Grave accidentally, but I love the idea, hope that it always stays free to the public.|
If there is something I've posted that you question, or are concerned about; please contact me. I'd like to get the information on the memorial as correct and complete as possible.
I try to use as many sources as possible (that I can get to) to get the information correct; such as Cemetery records, Church Records, Funeral home records, County records, State records, obituaries, & from the families; but I know mistakes can be made. Please let me know.
One problem that comes up a LOT, is duplication; since I work mainly from church records, I have no idea if indeed there are 2 cemeteries; or 1 cemetery with various different names that were used over years; both instances have occurred. But what is the right answer?? I have found 1 person who has two stones in 2 cemetery's in 2 different STATES; but where is the body actually?? Or a different person entirely? I can't tell you because I don't know.
Myself? I am researching for my own inter-related family branches as well; Bahr, Baker, Hays, Keyes, Kussmann, McLaughlin, Meeker, Shaw, Visger, and Walker (up to great-great-grandparents and all their siblings so far).
I found a statement about links that is similar to my own beliefs. Myself? I believe in adding information as found because others might not have that particular detail that will help them. I have requested of Melaney Friesen Shaum to be able to use it and with permission, here it is:
•♥• *ღஜ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ஜღ* •♥• *ღஜ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ஜღ* •♥•
Let's help the next family member or researcher that visits a memorial by adding all the family links that we know. When family members are not linked, it makes the next person do the research all over again. Also, if we have the information, let's use it before it is forgotten.
I also believe that family links make this site easier to use. The easier it is to use, the more it will be used and the better it will get.

Thanks so much for the transfer of the above sites. Now to get someone to go out and photograph their graves. Richard

Thank you so much for adding the links and the bio content. I certainly did not intend to duplicate your page, and I am grateful also to SIOregon, whose grave marker photograph determined I had placed Josephine in the wrong cemetery.
|Mary Anne Clark||Florus O Timberlake?|
Also looking for him, father of Katie J Timberlake Clapp, believe he may have also been buried Pleasant View Cemetery, died Apr 1890. Are you able to check the records, he doesn't seem to be listed yet? How does one request a photo when person not listed???
In the future, would you consider consolidating the submissions for mother and father links into one SAC instead of two?

Info has been added to Ila Patton as you requested.
Do you happen to know the date that the obit was published in the newspaper?

I believe this would be Harvey W. Miller born 22 Sept 1877 and died 20 July 1878 the son of John William Miller 26056775 and Laura Emma Mason Miller 64513010. These two are my Great Great Grandparents on my Mother side. Harvey would have been a brother to my Grandfather Edward E. Miller.
I understand he was buried by his maternal grandparents John Wesley Mason and Sarah Kindlespire Mason and there is no stone. Our family hopes to add a stone.
Thanks for your help.

Hi - Was wondering if you live close to the Oakland Union Cemetery in Cloud County, Kansas. Have a person buried there from 1889 but without a marker. I see you added a plot # and was curious where you were able to obtain that info. Thanks. Bill.

|Forrest Pettengill||Ala family photo updates|
You transcribed much information regarding George Ala who married first to Elizabeth Tansy Stewart and had 3 children, then he married second to Augusta Becker and had 3 more children (1 more I believe is from a previous marriage of Augusta's).
Anyway, my mom's side of the family is the ALA side and I tell you this is hard to find information on this line due to the fact that ALA stands for Alabama in a lot of genealogy records, so when I saw that you actually found the cemetery I was excited. I need to know if George's first wife was buried there. I need to confirm that her middle name was actually "Tansy" and not "Luella". I need to know where she ended up, cuz supposedly she was sick and went with George westward, had consumption and she died early. No one knows where she is buried but according to the memorial page, it looks like the Ala family has several plots, up to 6, so I wonder if she is definitely there too!! That would be so exciting! I would have lots to tell and spread the news to our extended family who have been searching and searching for this line forever. Not sure if it will say much, but Elizabeth's middle name is up for grabs but I am sure it is Tansy and her death location, where'd she end up is anyone's guess.
Any information that you can find would be a great help to me! I have requested some of these actual gravestones to be photographed. Have you ever used billiongraves.com. That site has an APP that you install on your phone or tablet and it uploads actual GPS data, so that now all these cemetery plots can be categorized. I use both this site, which is the original and then the new site with it's technology at billiongraves.com.
Anyway, I wanted you to know that I posted some photos of the Ala family. George Ala and Alfred George Ala. If you are interested, I posted them at their corresponding memorial page.
Take care, I friended you.
|Paulette Ferko||Hugo Rolf|
My grandfather, Hugo Rolf is buried at St John's cemetery in Coffey County, KS. His brothers, Paul, Herbert & Edward are buried there also. While their graves are listed in St John's, Hugo's is not. He died Dec. 10, 1993. His wife, Edna Rolf (my Grandmother) died this last week, Dec. 27, 2012. Her obituary can be found by going to the Jones funeral home website in Burlington KS.
