I became interested in my family history in my 20's. I grew up with only my Step-Father's family I met my Mom's family around the time I turned 16 and have had only had brief contact with them since than. I met my Father again when I turned 21. I met my extended Hamer family sometime in my 20's. I had no family history from either biological sides of my family and thus I developed a deep desire to know where and who I came from. Thus started my journey into my family history. My Step-Grandmother (Leslie Gillund nee Randels Find A Grave Memorial# 73205797) inspired my genealogy work I was always fascinated with her piles of paperwork in her office! I enjoy sharing this genealogy journey with my Uncle who is equally involved in our family history compilation. |
I am happy to transfer any memorial for your family member, as long as it is not also my relative.

|Judith Brooks||William and Rebecca Brooks|
I am researching the Brooks family and can tell you that the husband of Jane Ghormley was Christopher Irwin Brooks. Married in Fayette County on 5 March 1840. His second wife was Harriet Newell Edmiston.
My research shows conflicting information on William and Rebekka. I am planning a road trip to Logan County in April and while doing so ran across a cemetery listing for this cemetery that records that William was 27 days old at death and Rebekka was 1 month and 2 days and lists the mother as Harriet. Seems to me a while back I found something that had headstone inscriptions stating they were both born in 1840. Do you have any proof to that effect?
If you are as confused now as I am, I hope to get something concrete when I visit.
No problem with Margaret's info.

Hi, Jeni - yes, I am Jim and Sylvia's oldest daughter. I'm glad you made contact with me. I'm glad you are connecting with your Hamer roots. You say you are Uncle Dean and Auntie Char's granddaughter. So, Johnny is your dad?

I added all the local Ghormleys I could find info on - including who I believe are Willard's parents (also transferring them to you). I linked Sarah to a Willard that may or may not be the right one...just putting the info out there for you to determine. As of now I've not discovered a family link between me or any of the other Ghormleys I added, so if you'd like to manage any of them just send me a SAC. Thanks!

I have her will. Puzzling thing is it says he is dead by 1854. I will put up a memorial for her.

I am the descendant of Jane C. Ghormley Bonner, born 1792 and died 1870. I am looking for someone who might know info about her line going back - if anyone can help I would appreciate it!

I also transferred Willimina's father's memorial to you. I also have several of her siblings' memorials if you want them.
Who was your husbands' parents? All I show on my tree is a female ? Ghormley b abt 1925. Since your husband is a Williad and Sarah must have had a son too.

I take it you are descended from Willard and Sarah Ghormley? Want John and Willimina's memorials?
If you are descended from them we are cousins through the MOOREs.
