Bio and Links
Bio Photo Most of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part
of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's. I transfer only within the four-generation Find-A-Grave guidelines.
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave.
I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information
from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition.
If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.

Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

RE: Remove lifted photo from memorial
I have removed the photo. I did not intend to claim credit for taking the picture. Did not realize it could not be used. My mistake. I did go back and read the rules for using photos. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

RE: Remove lifted photo from memorial
Mrs. Alexander is the mother of my sister-in-law, melba Seawright. I have her permission to use the photo. Do i still need to remove it? Didn't mean to break the find a grave rules. Any pictures that I use I do ask the family for permission since I only do memorials of people I know or a family member that I know. Please advise and I will comply. Thank you. Judy Lawson

No, I don't believe Joshua b.? d.? is a duplicate of the first cemetery listing, Karyn. My guess would be that he is sharing an older double-stone in section Center North with "Louise"; while Joshua (1864-1950) is listed as buried in the East Center Section of the cemetery with his more immediate family.

130807441 Eichelkraut Joshua ? ? Center North
130807399 Eichelkraut Louise M. ? ? Center North

Re: Karl Hohlstein duplicate
Actually, the cemetery records list three Karl's buried in Mt. Pleasant, Karl Amel, Karl Jr. and Karl H. Karl H. doesn't have a marker so I don't believe that this is a duplicate.

James Davis Obituary
Dear Mrs. Garvin. Do you have a copy of the Obituary that is cited on the page for James Davis (Find A Grave Memorial# 78238048). If so can you post it to his page or send it to me. He is a cousin to me and I am curious if any family information that I do not have may be contained within it.

thank you for all of your efforts on F.a G.

I have sent the following e-mail to the other contributors regarding the duplicates you found. There are two different cemeteries, Laurelton being the one where the markers actually are. Fender's is located a short distance up Pound Mill Road on private property. Thanks for your information on these memorials.
I received an e-mail from another Find A Grave member ( suggesting that certain memorials I had entered may be duplicates of some of yours. I had taken pictures of the following at Laurelton Chapel and you have the same entries at Fender's Family Cemetery, which is located a short distance up Pound Mill Road from Laurelton Chapel.

My memorial: 123966484 Ollie Shelton, yours: #109024088

My memorial: 124272583 Dicie Proffitt, yours: #109023848

My memorial: 124272471 Coby Proffitt, yours: #109023730

Since I have not visited Fender's, I believe they are actually at Laurelton. I also believe that yours pre-date mine so I would be happy to remove mine if you agree that they actually belong in Laurelton.

ref: your email. I'm well aware of incorrect entries on Find A Grave. This is a headache genealogist encounter every day. The casual contributor adds info they "believe is the gospel" but do not make an effort to verify their facts. Also, it requires cooperation from each contributor to rectify inconsistent entries. I contact numerous contributors and provide the correct info. If someone does not participate in Find A Grave now, has changed their contact info or just doesn't care to make corrections, the situation is not corrected. As historian for our family, I will provide accurate entries. All the best!

RE: Concord and Old Concord Cemeteries
Awesome; I would appreciate that. I'll look through my photos to see if I have any others of the cemetery to post once the merging happens...thanks again. My gggg-uncle (John B Fuller) is buried there with his first wife.

I just checked the profile of the creator of the memorials in Saints Cyril & Methodius. I discovered that that person is now deceased. Now I understand not getting any response to my requests to move the memorials. I will notify find a grave about the problem and maybe they will move the memorials to the correct cemetery. Then I will delete mine.

Thanks, James

RE: Concord and Old Concord Cemeteries
The two cemeteries are one in the same. The state historical marker calls it the Concord Cemetery, but other sites call it the Old Concord Cemetery. I took lots of photos while there and posted them on - even plots that are not my ancestors. I'm clueless how to get these two listings merged..
