Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've discovered several forgotten graves and small family cemeteries over the years, while involved in my work or hunting, and wanted to list them on Find A Grave. Many of the people buried in these graves are some of the earliest settlers in north Louisiana and deserve our respect and admiration. I'll do my best to see that they are not forgotten.

RE: Capt. William M. Donahoo
I was browsing thru the cemetery and cam across Capt. Donahoo memorial. I noticed the missing info and decided to do a little research. Check 1850 Census, Talladega, Alabama; 1880 Census, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.

I just wanted to tell you that I was very touched by the tribute you posted about serving on the ship named for this young man. I've been trying to improve the virtual graves of as many USNA graduates as I can. I've recently been concentrating on those who graduated just in time to jump into WWII, and gave their all for our country. As I'm sure you know, those who die young are much more likely to be forgotten.

The marker on his grave site give death date as 1792. (Find A Grave #24616923) Husband of Margaret Dawwson. This looks like a commemorative marker, placed later. Is there any evidence that he died in 1789? BevR

I can never tell you how much it means to me to get the information you provided on Les. She is my cousin and was 3 short months younger than I. When she passed away I was only 15 and have not been able to go back to the cemetery. However, with the information that you provided I now can visit!
