|Nancy Shrader||Elizabeth Eyler Harbaugh|
It notes on find-a-grave that Elizabeth's parents are unknown. In researching family history, & researching family history from other family members trees, I found that Elizabeth's parents names are father: John Conrad Eyler born 1690 in Germany & died 1751 in Manheim, York, PA. mother: Anna Margaret Gemelcks born 1694 in Manheim, York, PA & died 1763 in Manheim, York, PA.
Are you related to any of the Hahn from Dearborn Co, IN all the way back to Elizabeth ( Worst ) & Valentine Hahn. Thanks
|Dave W||Re: Hannah Albert|
I posted an addition to the memorial for Hannah Albert (my 3rd great grandmother). Marriage records posted on ancestry.com indicates her maiden name was Gross. Thomas and Hannah Albert had a son, Robert C. Albert, (my 2nd great), who was born around 1827. Robert was married to Ann Rebecca Gray (1834-1921), and they lived near Tilghmanton, but the whereabouts of their graves are unknown. Any suggestions as to where I might find where Robert and Rebecca are buried?

If you would know someone that would want it please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org thanks. if anyone would want it, I would mail it to them.

The locally famous J. M. Holdcraft book on old cemetery's lists the church as "The old abandoned cemetery of the M P Church" and "Meth Prot Cemetery at Detour Md". The books states the names of those buried there. I am sure you are familiar with the book. I have been able to find very little on the church on the internet, except for the listing on this Find A Grave website. It is listed in some of the histories of Detour and Waesche families. I also have a photo of the church given to me by Mrs. Waesche as it appeared in about the 1940s when it was still under roof with few trees in the cemetery. My family has also taken photos of the ruins as they appear today with the north wall fully and the others partially standing.

I have lived near the community of Detour (previosly named "Double Pipe Creek" since 1959. I have spoken to the family that donated the land for the cemetery to the Methodist Protestant congregation through deed dated October 2, 1883 from George Henry Waesche and Catherine Waesche (Land records, Frederick Co, MD 44, Liber J.S., page 164). The cemetery is located about 1/4 mi. South of the intersection of Route 77 (Rocky Ridge Rd as it is called in Frederick County) and Detour Rd). Route 77 becomes Middleburg Rd once the bridge is crossed into Carroll County. The church ruins and cemetery lie in Frederick County, Maryland on Detour Road. The family members in the area, whom have family buried in the cemetery refer to the church qas "Waesche's Chapel". I believe this is the correct name of the church. The church was last used in 1939. We are having a problem with people sealing the building stones from the foundation. I hope people will respect the property and know they belong the the Methodist Church and the people buried there.

The tombstone is incorrect...have no clue why, but his name is Mentor Purdue Moore. His grandson, my uncle, was named after him and his name is Mentor. Some of the census' also have his name as Mantor but that is incorrect. His obit and death certificate have his name spelled Minter. But, I'm convinced his name was spelled Mentor because his daughter named her son after him and his name, as I stated above, was Mentor Purdue Moore.
