My Col. Jacob Bartholomew was married to a Lamont. Recently a relative tried to use the Bartholomew book as a reference for admission into the DAR but they refused to accept it. I see that the SAR has accepted it, but I'm really leaning toward perhaps an error in the death date of Jacob Bartholomew in the Bartholomew book. I'm looking for anyone who might have documentation to the earlier death date besides the Bartholomew book. Thanks for any help in solving this puzzle.

RE: Jonathan Draper
The Hudson Library & Historical Society has a folder on the Draper Family. We find this family very confusing in sorting out who is whom. Maybe you can help. I'll see about sending you all of the information from the library.

RE: Jonathan Draper
Are you familiar with the Draper family from Hudson? I am a volunteer at the Hudson Library and Historical Society and we have a photo of a "Mr. Draper" but we do not know which Draper it is. Let me know if you would be interested in seeing his photo and I will e-mail it to you. Best regards, Beth

Jonathan Draper
Jonathan Draper is not buried at Draper Cemetery. There is a memorial for him at Hudson Township Burying Ground with a photo of the stone.

I'm happy to add the names of her children to her memorial if you want to send them along.

Is it something you'll send to Copy and Paste, or is it a scan you'll add as a picture? If it's a long article, it may be too hard to read as a picture...

Either way, I can transfer him to you if you want...

Yes, that biography would be fine.

The grave I took a picture of the person was a 5 month old child. Born 1883 died in 1884. That was the only marker on the stated plot that was not readable because it is on the ground and it was for an infant judging by the broken lamb on the top. Are you sure about it?

RE: Mattie Martin
I got a response from the manager yesterday, so they are alive and kickin'.

My brother was an outsider in MT, at least in the eyes of the yocals there. That, with no connections and some very bad people up there, did him in; and that is quite short of making some very grave accusations; although there are witnesses that came forth a few years ago...but, then again we are talking incidents 34 years ago.

It's the 'law of the land' up, who knows what Mattie encountered there.
