Having more fun walking the older areas of the cemeteries and thinking of the histories.

I have photographed all of Oak Grove and more than half of Lakeside in Pekin, IL. There are alot of missing headstones and quite a bit that are unreadable. Getting what I can before they are gone.

I will transfer ONLY within Find A Grave's guidelines. Though happy to add any information you have to the memorials. This is a memorial site, not a family genealogy site.

I also have spent many an hour walking the cemeteries and transcribing headstones that are hard to read. If you take any of the photos and place them on other sites such as Ancestry, at least make credit back to me. May sound selfish, but giving credit to someone for their work is only correct.

Crino H. Sweeter
Dear Linda,

I have been researching the Sweeter family aka the Swyter family for over 10 years. Antje Ellerbrock's husband was Crine Hinrichs Swyter (Sweeter)born March 12, 1807 in Loquard, Germany. He disappeared after he came to Pekin and we have not been able to find any record of his death after exhaustive inquiries. The Crino Sweeter you have listed is the son of Henry Sweeter (Swyter) and would have been 11 years old when Aatje died, He is also the grandson of Attjes husband Crine who was born in 1807

Harry Pollman
I am the niece of Harry Pollman at St Joseph Cemetery in Pekin, Illinois. He was born in 1931 not 1913. His father was Harry Christian Pollman buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, Il and Beulah Mae Laycock Pollman. Thank you for all your hard work. Vikki

Grieske Groenhagen
I sent a request on death date. According to the cemetery records it lists her as wife of William and maiden name of Rieman, age 72-6-11. Not sure if it is the same person or not, but it is the only listing for a Grace. Use info as you wish

Thanks for the info... Nonnie Groenhagen married 2 women, with similar names. His first wife was a Riemann, the oldest sister of my GGGFather. All of the Riemann sibling's middle name was Janssen.

Nonnie's second wife was Grieske Janssen (Janssen is her last name).
He had children with both wifes.

Are you connected to these families? I thought I got the info on the burial location from family and that they have no markers (or they are now lost).

These women are confusing...so the Lakeside Cemetery said her maiden name was Rieman/Riemann. Wife of William. 72 years old/6 months/11 day. Now I'm really confused.

If you follow the links to Nonnie or his older kids, you can get to the first wife Grieske

RE: Patricia Ann Patterson Vandeschraaf
I agree with you. I don't remember who had the duplicate but there's one person I keep seeing adding memorials very sloppily - sometimes without any information except the name. He'll have dates available to him and only put the year, never adds birth or death locations, never puts maiden names, doesn't go to the funeral home to get any dates or anything there (just uses the newspaper obit and some of those have next to no information) and he never adds links to family members, etc. I guess he's just running up numbers for himself, I don't know. It's very frustrating. Grrrrr!

Info on Werts family
Hi,

Was delighted to find the entries you made for Anderson Werts, his wife, and son. Information I had was "Wertz" and had seen also the name as Weerts.

I noticed, however, that for the entry for the son, Elmer Louis Werts (90243303), you say the father, Anderson, was born in Tribble IL, but under the entry for the father (90242607), you say he was born in Trumbull Co Ohio, so can you confirm which is correct and change the other? Could not find a Tribble IL nor any town named Tribble in the US Board of Geographic Names database.

Thanks again for this valuable information.

Sam Andrusko (a Fl*g*l family researcher)

P.S. Anderson Werts also had a son Eugene and a daughter Goldie. Oh, and under Elmer, it says his mother was born in Bloomington, but under her entry (90243090), it just says Indiana.

WANDA LEE JENT BENNETT
Linda:

Thank you for completing my photo request at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin for Wanda Lee Bennett. Your time and dedication to the findagrave site is greatly appreciated. I appreciate your time, your thorough documentation and source verification processes that you complete in order to makes this site a reliable resource. May that same enthusiasm be transformed to those that utilize the site aimlessly whenever they encounter a memorial, photograph, or source of information where you are referenced as the contributor and where they refuse to comprehend the importance of accuracy or validity.

Thomas Turbett
Hi. Is it possible for you to correct one of the children's spouses of Thomas Turbett? I am a descendant of his daughter Mary (known as Polly which is on her gravestone in the Ashland Cemetery in Carlisle, PA). Polly married JOHN Graham, not George Graham.
Are you related?
Thanks,
Jeff Graham
