RE: Peter Hoff memorial The Peter Hoff quoted in your statistics is obviously not the same Peter Hoff I have, even though they were in the same Loudoun County, Virginia. According to Frederick Weiser who transcribed the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church records from Rocky Hill, Philip Hoff and Rosina Firestone had three children baptized: Elisabeth Hoff, baptized February 1774; Susanna, baptized May 25, 1775; and Philip Hoff, baptized May 25, 1777. A forth child named Peter Hoff, was baptized May 4, 1783, at the Frederick Town Evangelical Lutheran Church. So, I wonder if they were cousins?
Christian Hege grave Mike, I've just gone through my late mother's family records. The original Christian Hege is definitely not in the Hege Farm cemetery at Williamson. Per his will probated in 1815, he was buried on his farm in Guilford Township. This may be the Gsell and Foreman family cemetery---I'm not sure, am still researching it. Meanwhile, it would be good to remove your post of his grave at Wlliamson since that is not correct. I'm continuing my search. I think it's important to locate the guy as he served in the Revolutionary War and there are a heck of a lot of local DAR and SAR members who've based their membership on his service. Thanks for your help! Sue
Can you check the age of Peter Hoff at the Mount Olivet cemetery a second time? Reported age at death of 72 years. In the "Firestone Family of Frederick County, Maryland," by George Ely Russell from the Western Maryland Geneology, Volume 9 (1993), Russell writes that a Peter Hoff was baptized on May 4, 1783, at the Frederick Town Evangelical Lutheran Church. This would make him about 55. Parents Philip Hoff and Rosina Feuerstein.
Christian Hege grave Hi Mike, Very curious--what is your source for the original Christian Hege and wives being buried in the Hege farm cemetery at Willismson? I am a descendent and in fact my family owns the farm where that cemetery is located. My grandparents' records of who is buried there do not include the original Christian, and I've always been told his grave was with his father Hans in a lost cemetery near Markes, PA. I'm willing to believe it's true but it's odd that my family historians didn't know this! Where did you get the information? Thanks! Sue Burkey
Good evening Aundra, My name is Mike Hahn from Smihsburg, Maryland. I have just obtained family photo's of the Mable Jane Hess family. I understand from your memorials that you maintain many of the Hess family memorials. I feel sure the photo's were held in high regard by Mable. A lot of the photo's date around 1950's, some are much older. These photo's will be lost, and I would love to get them back in the family. Would you be interested in having the pictures? It would a lot to me.
my answer is

George Harbaugh (1747- ) Mike, Since George Harbaugh (1747 -) had not been added (to findagrave), I added a memorial and the information I just sent to you. I do not have his date of death or where he was buried. Connected him to his wife Elizabeth. Happy to transfer to you if you want to maintain the memorial and perhaps do further research.
George Harbaugh (1747- ? ) The eldest son of George Harbaugh, he was also known as John George Harbaugh (born 8/11/1747-date unknown of death). He married Elizabeth Binchele (or Binkele). her dates: 12/19/1749-1/23/1780.
Information from "Harbaugh History" (Page 148)as follows:
*All these data from the Graceham Church records in the York Hist. Society from which we quote the following verbatim -
John George, eldest son of George and Catherine (Williar) Harbaugh married first Nov. 27, 1770, Elizabeth Benkele. He body was brought through the deep snow on a sled to the church for burial.
---------- There were 5 children listed born to this couple (George Jr. 1771- ); Jacob (1773-1850); Elizabeth 1775-1855; John (1778-1854); and Infant daughter (1/10/1780-1/10/1780). Elizabeth buried her infant daughter in the garden the same day herself. Elizabeth died 13 days after her infant daughter.
Additional note about George Harbaugh (1747- ) ----"He lived for some time on the old homestead. Afterwards he removed to Bedford Co., PA and on one occasion, coming to the Valley on a visit, he took sick and died on his way home."
He had a second wife Marie Barbara by whom he had five children. If you want these names, let me know.
