"When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am in who you are. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart." Fredrick Beekner|
First of all, I would like to thank the many volunteers that give freely of their time, knowledge, and efforts on behalf of people searching for answers and hoping to breathe life back into their ancestors, walking cemeteries, taking photos, editing photos uploading and creating memorials.
Find a Grave is kept up by a United community of genealogists, historians, (beginners and experts) all of which of course, are VOLUNTEERS. We do not get paid for what we do here.
Creating memorials and fulfilling photo requests is a labor of love for me. If you appreciate something I've added, please pay it forward! If you receive "freely", give "freely"
When making CORRECTIONS & TRANSFERS
Please click the "Edit" tab on the individual memorial, then the "Suggest A Correction" link on the specific memorial you would like me to update or transfer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CORRECTIONS AS PUBLIC MESSAGES
If you want to see my sources please just ask. You can also check the memorial, as over the last three years I have been trying to give credit to those that submit valid info in the bio of the memorial.
I spend a lot of time traveling, photographing, editing and posting my photos because I love doing it. It also gives me a lot of satisfaction if I can help others find their family. I do not mind if you use the photos for PERSONAL use, if you are attaching them to your family tree please note that you came by the photo via Find A Grave.
I do not transfer to requesters who are rude/demanding, have no profile or who are collectors -- however,I'll always update and link memorials within a day or two or as time allows.
Transfer requests should be requested on the "edit" tab. Include your relationship, and your contributor name and number.
Keep in mind, those of us who list these memorials are only human, sometimes we make mistakes, let us know, and Never forget: We Are Volunteers. VOLUNTEERS. Our time and work are given freely.
The quote of Fredrick Beekner is borrowed from my cousin Mike Perkins memorial.
I am of the belief that no one is truly gone, until they are forgotten.
So with all this said, I will continue to visit cemeteries and take photos of graves, and hope someday to find more of my family, and maybe some of yours. Until then I will remain.... Calmly Searching..........

No...I'm not related as I created a memorial for her husband back in January of this year & while doing research on his family etc & came across the memorial you had created for Sharon.Just thought it would be nice to have them linked together is all.If you are family or a friend & you'd like for me to transfer Donald to your care, please just ask & I'll be more then happy to transfer him to you.
I mainly try to create memorials for our Veterans & their families as it is my way of saying
"Thank-you" to them.Having been married to a military man (Air Force) I sorta know what the families left behind go through if ya will...
Have a great week-end <(^_^)>

I had to smile at the request. After the marker was placed I could find a memorial for Gene. For what ever reason the system had a hiccup. I was able to transfer them over.

Wow, you have done a really nice job on this memorial. As difficult as it was to travel in those days, I wish we had some insight into why he went all the way to Texas and then returned to Tennessee. It's not like one could get on the interstate highway and be there overnight. Even by train, it would take more than a week. Sigh, I guess at this point, we'll never know the underlying stories of how and why. Again, great job documenting his life story.
thank you for posting memorial photo for Douglass Poston

Thank you for transferring Gordon to me. It did break my heart that a stranger did his memorial. I was planning on doing it. He is not forgotten and never will be.
I understand your thought behind what you do and I do appreciate the thought, but you did the memorial four days after he died not giving his family time to do anything. Again thank you for transferring Gordon's memorial

Could you please email me privately. I would like to talk to you about my husbands memorial that you have done. I am a Find a Grave volunteer myself. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you

Oh, I understand completely! Just happened to run across it when I was checking some of the "A" people for photos needed. Have a great day!
|Angel of Flowers||Hi|
Thank you for visiting my son Steven & both my parents this evening. I deeply appreciated your kindness & taking the time to stop by their memorials.
Have a great night!

You are correct, Battle Rock cemetery and Mcelmo Canyon Cemetery are the same cemetery, the locals call the cemetery by both names, but I can see how confusing it might be. I presume years ago the name Battle Rock Cemetery came about due to the school located right next to it which is called Battle Rock School, and others began to call it Mcelmo Canyon Cemetery because it's located in Mcelmo Canyon. I had no idea that their was a duplicate of it on find a grave when I first joined though. The grave's that I do manage are my deceased realities, their is a few more I need to add to the list who are also in that cemetery. I some of the history behind it, about 120+ years ago Mr. Brown donated the land for the cemetery to be made and also for the old one room school house to be built, my great grandfather Ellsworth Amasa Porter helped with building both the school and the old cemetery, it was more less a small community project, most of the neighbor's who helped to construct both are now at peace in the cemetery. If you need any additional information I'll be happy to help you.

I am always happy to transfer to family. Tommy
