Bio Photo "When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am in who you are. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart." Fredrick Beekner

Thank you in advance for the many updates and links that I receive almost daily for my memorials. I strive to keep up with them.

Before accepting information in edits now, there is a great effort made to confirm the information you send. One edit sent to me, may take 4 to 6 hours of my time searching on ancestry and other genealogy sites to complete. I gather the records for said edit, gain knowledge of the family, contact other contributors to link family members that I am able to find, so that the entire family can be linked on any given memorial.

Please make sure your information is accurate, so that I can accept it. There are a lot of people being linked to those they do not belong to due to so many "same names". It is an easy mistake, I know, as it has happened to me in the past. When possible, follow your loved one from birth to death, check your dates and locations lived to make sure it is the correct memorial.

Know that I appreciate your time and effort. Please, be respectful of my time and effort. If I have made an error, sign in to Find A Grave, and send me an edit. If you have documentation of your information, include that as well.

I would also like to thank the many volunteers that give freely of their time, knowledge, and efforts on behalf of people searching for answers and hoping to breathe life back into their ancestors, walking cemeteries, taking photos, editing photos uploading and creating memorials.

Find a Grave is kept up by a United community of genealogists, historians, (beginners and experts) all of which of course, are VOLUNTEERS. We do not get paid for what we do here.

Creating memorials and fulfilling photo requests is a labor of love for me. If you appreciate something I've added, please pay it forward! If you receive "freely", give "freely"

Please click the "Edit" tab on the individual memorial, then the "Suggest A Correction" link on the specific memorial you would like me to update or transfer. ***PLEASE DO NOT SEND CORRECTIONS AS PUBLIC MESSAGES***
Transfer requests should be requested on the "edit" tab. Include your relationship, and your contributor name and number.

Keep in mind, those of us who list the memorials are only human, sometimes we make mistakes, let us know, and Never forget: We Are Volunteers. VOLUNTEERS. Our time and work are given freely.

The quote of Fredrick Beekner is borrowed from my cousin Mike Perkins memorial.

I am of the belief that "no one is truly gone, until they are forgotten." Phyllis Behrendt 2008

So with all this said, I will continue to visit cemeteries and take photos of graves, and hope someday to find more of my family, and maybe some of yours. Until then I will remain.... Calmly Searching..........

Hi. I am a historian working on a book. I found The initian "P." in my reaseach. The initial ‘P.’ came from these sources:

**Hall, Frank. History of Colorado Embracing Accounts of the Prehistoric Races And Their Remains; The Earliest Spanish, French, and American Explorations; The Lives of Primitive Hunters, Trappers And Traders; The commerce of the Prairies; The First American Settlements Founded; The Original Discoveries of Gold in the Rocky Mountains; The Development of Cities and Towns with Various Phases of Industrial and Political Transition From 1858-1890 In Four Volumes Illustrated, Vol. 4. Rocky Mountain Historical Company; Chicago IL: The Blakely Printing Company, 1895. p. 229.

Montezuma Valley Journal, 9/15/1951: 1A.

Robison, Anna Florence. Taped Interviews. Dolores CO, 1934.

Schwindt, Vila, Janet Weeth, and Dale Davidson. Cortez: Images of America. Mount Pleasant, SC: Arcadia Press, 2011. p. 19.

Smith, Stephen J. “Interview with Anna Florence Robison, Dolores CO, 03/27/1934”.
In Robison 1934.

I have the Robison interviews transcribed if you would like them.

Unknown. Untitled article, n.d. (post 1960s)
Cortez Library History Collection, Drawer 3.

**I think that it is all based on Hall’s book dated 1895.

Thanks for your consideration. Janet Weeth

Elizabeth McNutt Gillett
Hillcrest cemetery.

The Gilletts were my paternal grandmother's family. My research was leaning toward Elizabeth McNitt's father being Andrew McNitt(McNutt), James' brother. Andrew was married to Abigail Harmon. Do you have some proof as to Elizabeth's father?

Memorial #162000804 Florence Ayres
Thank you for photographing this headstone. Florence was the 10th child born to Rev. Jesse Martin Ayres and Evalena May (Anderson) Ayres. Her early death is attributed to influenza. So pleased to discover this today and so appreciate your efforts. AYRES COUSINS

Thank you very much for the transfer, most especially since I did not ask for it. It means so much to me to finally find family that was a mystery for so many years. My grandmother Ida, granddaughter of Archibald, never knew much family history because her mother, Alison Maud (Russell) Carns died of TB when my grandmother was only 12. I so wish I could share this information with her now.
Thank you again,
Marilyn Morgan
