My name is George Muse Gaston and for the last many years I have been tracing my family ancestors by walking through old family cemeteries and checking with county registers where known relatives have lived. It all started when I was nine or ten, helping a 1st cousin on my father's side of the family. For several weeks "Aunt Puddie", as she was known lovingly by the family, and I would head out early in the morning searching for old grave stones from Savannah to Edgefield, South Carolina. I can't remember who we were looking for, but I learned a lot about our family and the social history of the South.|
Family ancestors that I am researching are: Gaston, Muse, Devlin, McKell, Bell, Agnew, Bradley, Montgomery, Pressly, Alston, Lyon, Glenn, Miller, Flenniken, Moore, May, Mangum, Weir, Goode, Greneker, Calhoun, DeWolfe, Dickinson, Rosborough, Emory, Service, Barnhill, Boykin, Wilkinson, Nicholson, Hemphill, Howard, deKoven, Sebor, Sheldon, Gardiner, Ochiltree, Howell, Ladd, Witherspoon, Schley, Snellings, Lankford, Kyte, Kimball and Kerr. Find-a-Grave has been invaluable with my journey.
You'll see many entries here from the old family church, Cedar Springs Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (1780) in Abbeville County, South Carolina. I have fond memories of going there as a child and having "dinner on the grounds" after Sunday services. Here I have many relatives and always enjoy stopping by and having a long visit when I am in the area.
Since joining "find-a-grave" I have met many wonderful people and appreciate their help in my never ending search of ancestors past. If I can be of help to you in your searches, please email and I will try my best to assist.

|Barbara Campbell||Lawson transfers|
Greetings, I have made the requested transfers. Please leave the note that this information in regardings to burial comes from the WPA records. At least until such time as a photograph of a marker is added. I am happy to transfer generational grandparents.
|BF McLaughlin||Your Knox material|
George ... your material on the Knox family is just simply outstanding work here on Find A Grave. I thank you for it!
|Wilson McElveen||Williamson Norwood Calhoun|
I noticed that you uploaded an obituary for W. N Calhoun. Are you a descendant? I am related distantly to W N. Calhoun, but am also related to his wife Virginia Caroline Bowman Calhoun and would be interested in contacting any existing direct descendants. Thanks for any info. you can provide.

No problem, glad to do it. I was visiting the cemetery, from NC, and decided to see if there were any of the requests that I could fulfill. I have a 7th great grandfather buried there.

Before I process your edit for middle name, I just want to double-check that her middle name really was Jim.

Olga is buried in Duval County Florida and her tombstone states that she is the "Widow of Col. Robert Fee Hyatt". Do you have any information about Olga and her relationship to the Colonel?
|Claire Zahn||Margaret HJane Patton Piggot|
I have added that photo for Margaret Jane. Hopefully it is a better read.
Great and Blessed Easter!

Thank you, George, for posting the photo of lovely Margaret. May I have your permission to post the information that you provided for her bio? I will give you all of the credit. I had no idea of her accomplishments. This should be shared with others.
I'm especially interested in the history of religious persecution in Scotland. I suspect that's one of the reasons why so many of my relatives were Presbyterians in Fairfield County.
|LJH||RE: Paul Livingston Grier|
You're welcome. I'm always happy to add links to memorials. Thanks for sending them and for letting me know that he was a librarian. I've added his name to my list.
