Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Navy Master Chief with 22 years of Service including 2 tours in Vietnam and 1 in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Most of my career was in helicopter Search & Rescue.
I was attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3, in Vietnam, and have been trying to track down the rest of the guys who were there. Unfortunately, I find way too many of them with this "Find A Grave" search feature.

Any photos I take for Find A Grave, I do not claim these photos as exclusive or copyrighted and anyone can copy and use the photos for whatever purpose you desire except to slander or disrespect. Dan

RE: Charles Davis-Kossuth
Actually the records are better than most in my area, easily accessible, people willing to help. I do a lot of work at Kossuth and the people in charge now do a wonderful job. Different record keepers over many years though, so I'm sure not all have been as good.

RE: Charles Davis-Kossuth
Okay, thanks. I spoke with the man who takes care of the cemetery today and he is continuing to try to get information for me regarding Charles. He also keeps an eye out as he works in the cemetery, and as I said, I spend a lot of time there, so I'm hoping we'll find him for you soon.

I'm trying to find this guy for you. He's not in the cemetery record. I have spoken with the keeper of the records and Charles is listed as a veteran buried there, but the location is not documented for some reason. They are checking so if they come up with anything I'll get the pic for you. Otherwise, I walk that cemetery often, so I might just happen across him by accident one day. Do you have any information on him that could be helpful, such as other family members who might be buried nearby?

RE: Perry Heard, Jr Photo Request
The stone is tipped forward and it was in full sun at 8:00 a.m. Next time I'm up that way I will try again, especially if it is later in the day. Shadows can sometimes make letters stand out on a headstone.

RE: James Beem Grave Photo
Thank you for your acknowledgement. Your friend (or relative) is interred in what is referred to as a columbarium, which is a wall where cremains are located. Mr. Beem's first digit in the plot number is a "1", which means he is on the uppermost level of the columbarium, which keeps the markers looking really fresh and clean, as opposed to the ground which can get overgrown at times. They do their best at keeping the cemetery well kempt, but with what I believe is now approaching 50,000, it's quite a job. Best of luck finding all those you seek. Regards.

Thanks for all you help you provided here. I appreciate so much the kind words, but it takes a village to raise a child and so it is true with honoring these men and women.
