Finding info on relatives or friends here can be very rewarding from a genealogical point of view for one. It can give you more leads! Posting memorials here has helped me find many living relatives, many of which I never knew about! If you think your related, or have other info you can leave a message for me so I can contact you. |
If I need to fix an error or add info, click on the edit button in upper right corner of the memorial in question.

Hi Scott, thank you for your service first and foremost. I did four in the Air Force and that was it. At any rate, there is a bit of a snafu that I wanted to make you aware of. I walk the grounds of Old City Cemetery here in Lynchburg and spend a considerable amount of time in the Confederate Section taking photos and trying to post a memorial for all of the soldiers in there. With the gracious help of fellow find-a-grave member LJH, I have several hundred memorials up for the soldiers in that section. I mostly use the Diuguid burial records, but I have photos of the kisok at the entrance as well as a book called Stories of the Stones to identify a soldier. It appears I have a duplicate of your kin. The Diuguid burial records, the kiosk and the book I have all spell his name as Brodda, but LJH found his service record and his name is spelled differently still. To make it even more confusing, the Diuguid record has a note that his name could be spelled a couple of other ways. Oy :( I am going to leave my memorial up in case anyone else takes a photo of his grave and does what I did and looks in the records. I put a note on my memorial to see yours. Mine is #145548323 if you want to take a look. I don't recall seeing the bronze plaque that there is a photo of on your memorial. If that is there, then I will surely remove my memorial from the site. I will have to go out there and find his grave.
Shew! That was easy :)

Hi Scott, I think you found the grave of my long lost g-g-Aunt and Uncle, Thomas and Jane Tilley. The headstone only reads Mother and Father Tilley, but the births are the same as Thomas' and Jane's are. I did not have death dates. Is there any way to contact Riverside Cemetery in Denver to see if the records have first names or any other information like who buried them. Thanks for the excellent photo you put up. Yea,...that was a wierd spelling. ;-) It had me looking through the burial cards trying to find a match, but I found it. :-)
It's wonderful that we can all share bits and pieces of information that help to lead to the correct names and real persons; and better yet, their histories and stories. WoW.
It's interesting seeing the other site on Caleb, quite informative. They must be a realative of sorts to have had the info they had.
This Find A Grave is an awesome useful tool of information.

I found a headstone ( I need to go back and get a better picture) for a Roy E Dexter, but want to be sure the Roy I have and the Roy you have are one in the same. (Age fits the dates we have between us).
Per headstone: Colorado, PVT, Mounted Service, School Detach., 16 May 1920.
Per Burial Book index: Age 23, interred 21 May 1920 in Block 11, Lot 6.
Is this your fellow? If so, please feel free to use this information for your site if you like.

There are several of my family members posted on the website. I don't know much about my family but am very interested in learning more about my ancestors. It seems like you have a lot of information and pictures. I am curious where you found the information and how best for me to learn more. My grandfather was Hugh Ferrier, Jr and great grandfather Hugh Ferrier. I appreciate any direction you can share with me.
