Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am researching my family surnames on my Father's side (Galloway/Carter/Cook/Oliver (SC/AL/GA) and my Mother's side, Traffenstead/Traffanstedt/Garrett, Freeman (AL/GA/TN/SC) Hartsfield/Cross/Wilson/Moore (AR). I've been interested in geneaology since August 2006 when I started looking for my Mother's biological family whom I found within 2 weeks. From my Mother's side, I am Catawba Indian "People Of The River", German, and British. I'm still working on my Father's side.

Please take a moment and visit my family. Thank you so much.

If I have offended anyone, please let me know and I will remove the memorial of your loved one. If you aren't a part of Find A Grave, you can still contact me through the edit tab of the memorial. I don't mean to offend anyone. All memorials are created out of respect. The purpose of me adding names is because I believe that people should never be forgotten, and also I like to help people who are searching for their ancestors. I am so thankful for Find A Grave because not only have I found many of my ancestors, I have found many related family members alive.

I will be happy to transfer memorials that are a part of your family with the exception of the ones of my family within Find A Grave's 4 generations guidelines. Any requests outside the 4 generations will be considered on an individual basis. You MUST state the relationship with your ID number. All RUDE requests will be ignored!

Duplicates - These are errors, and not created on purpose. I search before I create a memorial and after every time. Please bring any errors or duplicates to my attention so I can correct them. If I have created a memorial and you create a duplicate, do not send me a message that the one I created is a dupe and for me to delete. I will not delete any memorials if you created a dupe. Don't create a dupe memorial just because you're related. If you are family, kindly ask for a transfer or you can add photos and send me information to be added and I'll be glad to add it. If you are within the 4 generations, please ask for a transfer. Please read the FAQ's for this site on creating memorials.

Feel free to use my photos 📷 as long as you give me credit and do not make any money off them.

Dear Dana,
I went back and checked for the Traffanstedts buried in Four Mile Cemetery in Wilsonville, Al. I found three and I believe they may be Ola Traffanstedt Wingard's mother and father and possibly a sister. There was not any links to anyone on them so I'm not positive.

Here are the names I found: Charles D. Traffanstedt born Jan. 13,1873 died April 25, 1945. Emma L. Traffanstedt born April 22, 1878 died April 9, 1944 and Ida M. Traffanstedt born June 14, 1902 died April 2, 1924.

Would you check to see if you have these people? Thanks a bunch for your time. LWP

Dear Dana,
Thanks for your prompt reply to my email. I appreciate you looking through your records to see if my aunt and uncle were kin. Maybe something else will turn up later on the Traffanstedt family. I'm pretty sure she lived in Wilsonville, Al. before she married my Uncle Clarence which is where my grandfather, my Dad and the other Wingard children grew up. My ancestors came over from Germany around 1753. My Mother said they met in Wilsonville.
I appreciate all you do to help others. Linda Wingard Parrish

Dear Dana, I saw on you find a grave page that you research the Traffanstedt family ancestors. Would you happen to have a Ola Traffanstedt in you family ancestry who married Walter Clarence Wingard in the 1930's or 40's? My dad's brother, who went by the name of Clarence, married Ola Traffanstedt and I know they moved to Michigan. They later moved to Florida where they lived at their deaths. I have tried to find Clarence Wingard to link him to my Dad's family but have not found his gravesite. Traffanstedt is not a common name and I'm sure came from another country. The only other ones I have seen are buried in Shelby Co. Al. in Four Mile Cemetery. If these are your family members would you happen to know where they are buried? I would appreciate any info you may have on them. Sincerely, Linda Wingard Parrish

James Milton Yates
Thanks for all the great work you do! I'm trying to find more WWII records for James Milton Yates (my son in law's grandfather). Do you know anything about what's on his tombstone (who provided the info, etc.)?

Thanks so much!
