I am very actively pursuing family information. I maintain an Ancestry.com tree, and my brother and I have family photo sites on Smug Mug, where we display the photos we get from family members and kind souls who share on these programs in hopes of preserving and sharing them with all families who need them. It occurred to me when going through my mother and grandmother's huge trunks full of photos that it was sad for one family to have all those treasures and not share. And, so began my many, many hours of scanning and sharing photos and information.|
I also enjoy visiting other memorials and cemetaries and adding flowers, pictures or data to memorials that have no information, or very little. My husband and I walk through cemetaries quite often, and find the headstones so interesting. I love adding to the history of these people, and it grieves me to find one that says "unknown" on a headstone. Genealogy has become a true passion.
My lines are Duncan, Mather, Dodson, Smith, Moore, Bullion, Curtis, Whitehead, Barron, Reid, and you know how that goes - many more! I am happy to share information and photos with those seeking help, and so very much appreciate all that is shared with me.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas, am married, and enjoying retirement.
Please feel free to use my information and any photos I have posted. I do not understand the fuss about using someone's photos. If they are sacred and personal, then don't post them, is my philosophy. We are all here to help one another and share for this and future generations. So many photos get lost in fires, animals getting into boxes, etc., so why keep them private? After we are all gone, our grandchildren and gr-grandchildren will someday be searching for images and information, and if I took it with me, they would be left at a loss. There are so many members in my family who suffered fires, floods, tornados, and other losses. But, at one time they DID have a photo of "Great Uncle John", however, now due to some unforseen circumstance, it's lost forever..... Think about it.
God bless and and Happy Trails..

|Sandy Pohlmeyer||Wedding photo of Fritz|
The photo you have of Fritz and his bride belong to Fritz b. 1885 and his wife Annie Seeker. I have the original photo which was given to me by my father in law. On the back of the photo it states that the photo is of "Brother Fritz and wife (Secker)oldest. I can send you a copy of the back for you if you like.

|Dan McGuire||Dale Martin|
I checked our family genealogy and you are correct. Dale Martin is buried in the Six Mile Cemetery. I will delete my memorial.
|Sue Lilley||RE: Sarah Faulkenberry|
Yes, it is sad. I have been working with the Austin State Hospital census records for 1940 and have found many such stories.
|Tundra Girl||Jeremy Peters|
Thank you so much for sponsoring Jeremy's memorial. Did you know him or his family? He is my cousins son. I noticed that you live in Texas and was curious about the connection. I also have a tree on ancestry.com, it's called Tina's Tree. Jeremy is in my tree so you might be able to connect that way if you are interested. Is Jeremy in your tree? I've never sponsored a memorial before, but maybe I will now.
|Ronnie McCarrell||RE: Noverne Simon|
You are very welcome....always glad to get out of the house.....sounds like a plan...just let me know if you find out something...Ronnie Mc
|Ronnie McCarrell||Noverne Simon|
I have noticed that you have a photo request for Noverne Simon. I was wondering if you had any idea or info as to what area of the cemetery that I am supposed to search. My wife and I walked over the far end of the cemetery where most new plots are but we melted down in the heat without finding any of the three we were searching for. Since it is supposed to get cooler next week I would be glad to try again if you have any location info.....thanks, Ronnie Mc
