I am a future resident of The Great Mausoleum of Forest Lawn, in Glendale, California. My niche (20817) faces W.C. Fields in the Columbarium of Nativity. I leave flowers for my Mother and W.C. every other week. I enjoy the history and art of cemeteries, and photograhing them. This my first statue, "The Butterfly Baby", by Bruno Pattorino. It sits in the Columbarium of Security on Gardenia Terrace of the Great Mausoleum. [Click on this photo to enlarge]. I also have an original statue of "Cupid's Choice" by Donatello Gabbrielli in the Hall of Inspiration (Holly Terrace) that is adjacent to the Columbarium of Nativity where my Mom is inurned and where I will be with her one day. I also have a bronze statue of "The Rising Sun" by Adolph Weinman in the Columbarium of Sanctuaries next to The Last Supper stained glass window on Memorial Terrace, Court of Honor. I recently purchased by fourth statue (marble) of "Little Friends" by Pietro Bazanti, (on Holly Terrace), and dedicated it to my late neighbor and friend, LaVonne Rose Potter. It stands in the Sanctuary of Redemption atop the grand staircase leading from The Last Supper stained glass window up to my niche in the Columbarium of Nativity (Holly Terrace). |Ivy Fenske||Alfred R Garey|
Hi David, I misspelled his name of Garey.A Family Maker Tree lists, Alfred R Garey b 5 April 1874 in Ohio as Alfred Leonard Garey's father and Mercy Morton born April 1877in New York as his mother.
Morton and Garey are listed on this birth Certificate of my ex-husband who is.
Alfred Allen Garey. and father listed as Alfred Garey and mother listed as Elsie Parker.
Age 29 for him and 25 for her.
He born in CA and She born in Bernie, Missouri.
It seems to me, the man buried there is the same as my Alfred Garey (the father of the child.
Alfred Allen Garey.
When Elsie Parker, found out, father of child was all ready married, she got an annulment or divorce from him, (can't find anything on it), and married a Man, James Brunsell, and name the child Alan Garey Brunsell, Brunsell man adopted him, sometime between 1933 to 1940. (Census of 1940 just shows he is the son of Brunsell, I believe Elsie married second in year 1937 in Martinez, CA.
So how can I prove my certificate if same as the one buried in your cemetery. (PS, David, my ex- is still living, and he knows he was adopted, and has known this every since 1950's. His mother asked me to try to find his father. I have been trying for years, then I found in 1954, the man buried there, now you know the whole story.
I would like to find adoption or divorce papers to prove these names.
Anyone with any knowledge of these people, no harm intended, just trying to find parents.
|Ivy Fenske||Alfred Garey - Elsie Parker etal|
Hello David. I wonder if you can help me. I know this is a public email, and perhaps someone might be related to these people and contact me.
I ordered and have in my possession, a birth certificate that says.
Child's name: Alfred Allen Garey, born at Kern General Hospital in Kern Co., Bakersfield, CA. Date Born 18 May 1933.
lists him Male of course, father, and mother's name listed: Elsie Parker.
Father of above is:
Alfred Garey, (no middle name listed) as I say.
His occupation was a laborer, worked in Kern River Oilfields, in and around Bakersfield, CA, and his age says 29. It does not list anything else for the father of this child.
For the mother: Elsie Parker, shows age 25, Born in Missouri, (her actual birth place, Bernie, Missouri,
David, what is so strange is, the listing that you have there for a person is Alfred LEONARD Garey, Born Nov. 30, 1904, and Died: Feb. 26, 1954.
According to everything I have searched is the mother me this man, and she called him 'Al' and I wrote things down, and his name was Alfred Leonard Garey. They started a relationship abt. two years before the child born. It is so weird,
The man who helped me also said his records showed stuff about this Alfred Garry age 36, Mercy Garry, age32, Colanah Garry, age 11, Fay Garry, age 8, Lennard Garry, age 5. (but this was record of a Walter Robert Leonard family tree, and it listed Alfred Leonard Garey, The tree in listing ALGarey, his mother maiden name Morton.
(this maiden name also shows on Other Ancestry items.
Do you think, that this Alfred Leonard Garey, buried in this cemetery is the same person, that is listed on the birth certificate I hold listing the child Alfred Allen Garey, bor 18 May 1933.
I find so many documents that the two Elsie Parker and Alfred Garey, are signed up in Directories, and in towns such as San Diego, Ca., Kern Co., CA, Imperial Valley, CA.,
Do you think, others might see this and see if they can find the parents for sure of this child.
Oh I just found that a father is Alfred R. Gartey born in 5 April 1874 in Ohio as Alfred Leonard Garey's father and Mercy Morton born April 1877 in New York as his mother.
I think this Alfred Leonard Garrey born in 1904 if the father as I repeat.
what do you think.
What is your private email, so not public.

I entered the memorial for Frances Higgins
#91624553 in Forest Lawn and did not make a
restriction on photos. Don't know where the
restriction came from.
I will request a photo.
|Virginia||Photo request Arlington Memorial Gardens|
If you would call the Arlington Memorial Gardens office #513-521-7003 and get the section and plot number, I will be glad to get the picture for you. You can ask for Pete Tunnat and he is willing to look it up.
It is such a large cemetery that without that it is almost impossible to find.
