I think this contributor is inactive. He hasn't done any editing for months. I use to do any editing.

I thought I let you know.

RE: Engman at GOH
Okay, I went back and this is what I found. Under different lighting, the name is still hard to read, but it is raised up just enough. The stone says this:

(Some sort of symbol)
Geb. 28 Jan. 1827
Gest. 12 Feb. 1894

So 2 n's in the last name. I took a couple new photos of that. I'm not giving up on getting a readable photo of the first name yet!!

RE: Engman at GOH
I actually live less than a block from this cemetery so it is not out if my way. In fact, I walk through here on my lunch breaks because I work across the street!

It certainly does look like there is one N in the last name. I will see if I can get better photos, if anything, I'll see if I can spray water over the name to make it show up more, or do the old touch and feel method :) I'll let you know what I find!

I love to dig in to family history mysteries.

RE: Engman at GOH
You're welcome. I'm wondering if under different lighting or with my camera (I had used my phone) we could get a better photo of his name? I saw what you had written re: the spelling. I think I'm going to go back and test it out. But you're right, given how old it is, it's in good shape!

RE: Kloos Memorial
there is a headstone next to John's for a set of twins - Johann and Franz. They have memorial's already made, but in case you hadn't found them in your research, I'm pretty sure they're the children of John and Lena. You don't have them listed on John's memorial, so I wasn't sure if you had made that connection.

No more Klier's noted. This cemetery was completely listed on Find A Grave a few years ago. If any other Klier's were buried here they would most likely have been listed headstone or not.

Wendalin Engmann
I believe the above is in your family, can you give me a hint as where he is buried? I'm doing research on Phillip Engman in Wisconsin and that brings me back to Wendelin.

Thanks, Lindy Wise Find A Grave #47035484

RE: Skurdahl at West Union
The Skurdell graves were not near the Skurdahl graves and I did not have time to search the whole cemetery for them at this time. I expect to be back there within a month and I will search again.

I have a photograph of the Skurdahl graves and the monument in the background. I don't think it will add anything on the individual grave sites, so I didn't upload it. I can send it to you as an email attachment if you will send me your email address.
