Bio Photo Feel free to use my photos for your genealogy research, but please mention that you got the photo from findagrave.

Take photos on sunny days only!
Use a mirror to reflect the sunlight off of the stones lettering. I have a cheap $10.00 mirror that is about 4 feet high. I can hold the mirror in one hand, and take the photo with the other hand.
Another place to find your ancestors gravestone photos is on: just search for their name.

A complete and searchable listing of the Hale collection is now available on To find it, click on "search" at the top of the screen. Bring down the drop down list, and click on "card catalog". Then, in the search box, type in "Hale". Then click on it, and you can do a name search. Be advised that not all names come up, for example, people that are buried in the Fair Haven Union Cemetery in New Haven CT will not show up.

The Old Cove Burying Ground in East Haddam is in need of care, and we need volunteers to help clean up this ancient cemetery. If you live in the East Haddam CT area and are interested in helping to preserve this cem, please email me. At the moment, there are only three people who are taking care of this cem, and two of them are in their 80's!!! We need people who have ancestors in this cem to contribute! Please email me if you are interested.

My family names are: Kerber, Kerper, Hartsock, Gray, Houck, Carper, Harpster, Gault, all in PA. My extended family names are Miller, Hager, Stamschror, all in Minnesota.

Frederick G. Loomis
Thank you for finding and photographing the grave of my great-grandfather Frederick Granger Loomis. My relatives and I have been looking for him for years. He died at a young age of a lung infection, which we suspect that he contracted at work. He worked at the piano factory in Ivoryton, where the air was heavy with dust from manufacturing.

Thank you so very much for finding him!

The date for Phillip Hill's birthdate was estimated based on what is on his headstone.

The Mary Dibble Hill Stannard I have listed, I believe is the right Mary. I got the exact birthdate from other trees. I believe the date of 1840 on her headstone is probably a few months off. The actual year was 1839, the headstone date was approximate.
In addition, my Mary Ann Dibble Hill Stannard is buried next to Albert Hill, her 1st husband, according to the "Connecticut Hale Cemetery Inscriptions" for Lower Cemetery.

I hope the above will allow you to accept my edits.

Thanks for your time.

I'll go ahead and make the correction.
I can transfer management if Susan is your relative.
If so, just make a request through Find a Grave.

Thank you for the updates to the Rogers grave markers. Amos was a troubled man. I'm still looking for his daughter who married into the Bagby family.

I admire your love for the old cemeteries. So much information is being lost in all the cemeteries I visit and it's such a feeling of dishonor to see them in their state.

Prof. Colegrove's mom, Eliza
Yes, I tried 'some' to find her but just gave up. My subscription to ancestry ran out...hadn't been able to log on for 6 mos..they didn't help me. But I miss it. They're tying up everything free on the 'net' so guess we'll all have to pay to get even the public records. I couldn't even log on to the SSDI link!!

Wish I could help, but I have no idea where Eliza is bur.
