TODAY'S NEW PHOTO: USMC Virgle Rhodes, my uncle. Uncle Virgle was on Pearl Harbor during the attacks. He was then sent to each of the other islands that were attacked. Because of his injuries during these battles, Uncle Virgle received three Purple Hearts! Please visit him for his birthday! Thanks! Cari

Feb. 16, William Patrick Hogarty, Medal of Honor Recipient, Civil War. Lost his left arm in battle. The Wyandot Chapter, NSDAR will be holding a Medal of Honor Ceremony for him and two other Wyandotte County, Kansas recipients at the Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas on June 13, 2015 at 10am. All are invited to attend!
Feb. 18, My Great Aunt Jean Knox Cairns. She was born in Scotland, migrated to Kansas, married late in life and had no children. She played the organ for her church in Airdrie, Scotland and in Kansas.

Cari, I don't remember Dwight. My Aunt Lily Alexander Tremain was the dispatcher at the police station at one time, but it was in the late 1960's and my father was dispatcher in the early 1970's.

Thank you Cari: I appreciate your visit to my son Ray. Yes I agree that we should not loose children. I have lost both of my sons and it is so hard. Sorry for your loss also. You are welcome for the flowers I leave it is an honor.
