Being born and having resided all my life in Quebec City, the most ancient fortified town in North America and which has celebrated in 2008 the four-hundredth anniversary of its foundation, I find that it is a great privilege for me to live and to work here, like I am at the heart of History. My passion for my roots led me quite naturally towards genealogy and obviously cemeteries. I became a "taphophile", that is a loving searcher and caretaker of old stones and funeral steles. Because of the devastation here of the hard climate and often also the negligence of those who should have mission to maintain well these places of memory, and thus worried of protecting the recollection of the humble as the illustrious, I decided to contribute to the network " Find has grave " by incorporating it the most biographic and iconographic information I can get about the men and women who are interred in my small corner of Earth. | |

 | Battle at Abraham's Plains I have been trying to find info on a French officer that died during the battle at Abraham's Plains. I do not know the surname but his wife hearing of his death went into labor and died having a son. The son was raised by a family by the name of DePeel/DePeal having been orphaned. He may have had a brother a couple of years older. The son later took their name. Do you know of any French officer's that had a spouse that died within days of that battle? | | | Milou
 | Photo requests Bonjour Guy,
Just in case you haven't noticed, the Canadian (and other foreign) memorial pages now have the Request a Photo button. If you are interested in registering as a Photo Volunteer, you can do it by editing your profile. You can also browse Cemetery page for any outstanding requests. This is a new feature so will take some time to be fully operational – see this thread in the Help Forum.
Many thanks.Added by Milou on May 12, 2012 12:54 AM | | | Boyletree
 | Saint Mary Roman Catholic Cathedral Dear Guy: The listings under Saint Mary RC Cathedral are incorrectly listed as being in New Brunswick Canada. Saint Mary's RC Cathedral is actually in Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada. The interments listed are actually in Saint Mary's RC Cemetery which is located out Division Street, also in Kingston. Could you please correct this. Much of my family is buried there and the 1st person buried there in 1836 was my 4th great grandfather. Thanks, Boyle Tree

 | photo Hi Guy:
I live in the U.S. and would like to get a photo of my g. grandfather's headstone. I know I will never get to Canada, and find-a-grave in the U.S. does not allow photo requests in Canada. He is buried in the St. Clements Cemetery Beauharnois (Catholic) Alphonse Leduc 1843-1919. Would you have any suggestions on how I could possibly get a photo?
Thank you,
Lisa kytro496@comcast.net | | | Amorifera
 | CEMENTERIO DE COLON, HAVANA, CUBA Happy New Year! I am writing to ask a favor. I really like the shot you took of the entrance to this memorial park, it is the one I remember as a child, the many times I visited there. Would you be kind enough to add it to my father's (German Pinelli) memorial on F.A.G.? Other volunteers added one, which confused me: I thought it was of my father's grave marker within the cluster of memorials shown. Anyway, since the photo is your property, that is why I am requesting this favor. Thank You! :D | | | quebecoise
