Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials. I usually link to the individual contributor using HTML code. If this is unacceptable to you just let me know you prefer to remain anonymous.

Norton in Calvary Cemetery2
The daughter of Howard and Mary Costello Norton also died in Seattle, and I cannot find her burial either, she was Dorothy Mary Norton Anderson who died October 8, 1996.

Would you have access to her obit also?

Norton in Calvary Cemetery
Thank you for the bios you posted of the various Norton's in Calvary Cemetery. I linked two more of the children to to Howard Grover Norton and his wife Mary B Costello in Calvary.

One of their children died in Seattle (Donald E Norton) on December 18, 1983 but does not seem to be listed as buried at Calvary.

Do you have access to his obit showing where he is buried?

Barb ODonahue

4th cousin to Donald E. Norton.

RE: Capt Robert Saunders

I originally had 1871 as Capt. Robert Saunders birth year, but the late John Hyson became convinced it was 1868. There is evidence for either and we may never be absolutely certain.

John based his belief on two sources:

1.) The 1870 Orange County NY census which listed Robert as 6 months of age. I have not been able to locate this census. John also located the 1860 Orange County NY census, both with family listings.

2.) William Saunders papers, a photograph of a building No. 100 which at the time served as William Saunders' quarters and office (I believe at the time in the possession of Grace J. Saunders, daughter of Robert and Minnie). A hand-written caption on the reverse of the photograph reads "Captain [Robert Saunders] born Aug 28th 1868 West Point."

John Hyson interviewed Grace in Maywood, New Jersey on 2 April 1986.

He was well aware of the sources for 1871.

I knew John well and he was a meticulous researcher, but when there is evidence both ways one can never be sure.

RE: 129791569, Mary Bowes
In checking the cemetery records, I'm not showing a grave for Mary Bowes, let alone William Bowes. The closest I found was a stone that says "May Bowers" with no dates (but it's a Civil War era stone, so it's likely it's her). The Nationwide Gravesite Locator shows Mary Bowes, so there must be a record somewhere!

RE: Rawleigh Hazen Ralls, III
You are correct - I apologize. I submitted this edit request for the wrong record. It was supposed be an edit request to remove the III from his father's record (which has been done). Again, sorry.

RE: Betsey Palmer Button
this is where it doesn't make sense right? Because if Betsy Palmer was 29 years 2 months and 10 day old when she died, this would of made her birth Feb. 30,1810 and even it is says 1829 year of death (or that is what it looks like to me on the stone, then there is no way she could be Albert Button's mother because Albert was born in 1807. On LDS it states her birth as 1770 in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island. John her husband was born in 1756. I have searched (after seeing on Find A Grave her parents birth dates because that states her parents were born after her, if born in 1770 but yet her child Albert born before her. This is my ancestors as it is probably yours. I talked to my niece Debbie Button Holmes last night and she is searching too, see if we can see why these dates are so off.
