Are all the Children In?

I think oft"times as night draws nigh
Of the old farmhouse on the hill.
Of a yard all wide and blossom-starred
Where the children played at will.
And when the night at last came down,
Hushing the merry din,
Mother would look around and ask,
"Are all the children in?"

Tis many and many a year since then,
And the house on the hill
No longer echoes to children's feet,
And the yard is still......so still.
But I see it all,the shadows creep,
And though many years have been
Since then,I can still hear Mother ask,
"Are all the children in?"

I wonder if when the shadows fall
On that last short, earthly day,
When we say good-bye to the world outside,
All tired from our childish play.
When we step out into that Other Land
Where Mother has long since been,
Will we hear her ask, just has of old
"Are all the children in?"

You answered my question and that is all I wanted. I would not want you to remove them. Just because I did not find them in Miss Sarah's family doesn't mean that they were not. More than likely they are ancestors of her father. Thank you. MHN

Hi, Thanks for putting her info online. Do you by chance have her maiden name? I'm a distant cousin of her husband, so don't have that.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Thank you. I don't want to be ungrateful, but I cannot edit the memorial and am transferring it back to you. I was going to add your photo and icon to the original memorial # 120033220 and delete yours since it is a duplicate. I will not be able to maintain the memorial, but that's okay. The important thing is that she have a memorial since she died at such an early age, and so wrongfully too. I did not catch it before, but she is not in Knupp cem. She is in St. John's. I requested a photo of the stone and the volunteer went to great lengths to find it and add it to her original memorial.

John I Kilgore
Please remove the unrelated newspaper article from his memorial. It is for Capt John Kilgore who died 20 years before him.
Thank you

Vicki: Is this person any relation to you? I just saw where a Steve Sexton was pulling from my ancestry.com tree on my maternal side. Just curious.

RE: Dr. F.E.Scarsdale
Hi Vicki:

Thank-you for your reply. Yes, I located the obit that you mentioned in your message. And yes, as a Scarsdale family historian I would have more information to add to the memorial record if it were transferred to me. Thank-you for offering to do so!
