Any family member who views a close relative's file (parent, grandparent, great grandparent, or sibling) on findagrave and wishes to take control should contact me through the Edit tab on the findagrave memorial and I would be happy to transfer control to you. Explain your relationship in the request. Non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. We make every attempt to follow findagrave guidelines closely. |
Do not request a transfer without indicating relationship to person.

I already had the obit. I think we're good.
Thank you - I will copy the info. Find A Grave is not letting me access the memorial right now.

Don and Gladys Martin are my grand uncle and aunt. He was my grandfathers Fred Martins brother. Would you mind transferring him (91867186) and Gladys (11868525) to me Morris Stillabower (47604381)? I want to tie them to their families. Thanks!

I was wondering if you have a connection to the Charles Thomas Blackburn family, from Tipton IN. Please e-mail me at email@example.com

If you click on "Person" or "Family" under "Type of Photo," before adding pictures of your ancestors, those pictures will always remain at the top of the photos, even if someone later adds a picture of the grave. As it should be. I think most of us would prefer to see the deceased as they were in life.

No, because the James Tichenor, who's monument you photographed, had his father die in 1870. One born in 1897 couldn't have been the son of the James. He was born in 1811 and died in 1882, which I believe you state as 2 Oct. That coincides with my findings. My cousin has a pretty detailed thesis on the Tichenor family. He's also my 3rd generation great-grandfather. His son is buried in the Rodney cemetery outside Greensburg, IN and my mom's great-grandfather.
Thanks for the info. I'm still tryng to find out if I can get any info on James' mother. I've contacted the Delaware Nation and asked them for guidance. Even if they don't find anything, I still tell people my ancestral grandmother is a member of the Delaware tribe, since she was born in the Lenape land of New Jersey, and then had James in Delaware Indiana, which has it's name from the Delaware, who were displaced there, after whites began moving west.

I'm trying to find out, if you came across his parents graves. His dad was also James, I show being born in 1781 in New Jersey and his mother was named Little Dove, who was born in 1781 in Delaware and gave birth to this James Tichenor in Delaware Indiana. Little Dove died in 1840, while this James' dad died in 1870. Does his tombstone reflect or show any legible parents names?
Thank you for making the updates and links.
