I am away now with my 2 brothers, tenderly caring for a terminally ill father for the duration, and will be fulfiling edit requests or transfers when possible, but please be patient. 1/30/2013|
Dad passed away shortly after 8 p.m. last night. He lived a great life, always had a smile and never spoke ill of anyone. Quite a life, though it could have ended better for such a kind and gentle man.
William Jensen Griffiths 1921-2013
I'm happy to transfer memorials to relatives upon request - please make sure you send your F-a-G number with your request.
If you have a correction, additional information or an obituary or bio, send it along and I'll add it to the memorial.
If you have a complaint, be nice and I'll address it as soon as humanly possible.
I ADHERE TO FAG POLICY ON TRANSFERS: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer.
NOTE: I have no relationship to 99.99% of the memorials I create -- if you are related, let me know and ask for a transfer - I'll be happy to do so.

Many thanks for sending Fannie's obituary. Now if I could only find her daughter, Flora's, resting place. Father and siblings are with Fannie. My great-grandmother was her niece and namesake.
I expect you set these 6 in this cemetery from the Putnam County Cemetery Book by Maurine Patton. Description there is near Waterloo or Spring Creek Bluff on the May berry farm.
Looking at the Putnam county map that would place it in the little piece of Putnam north of Cookeville that Juts up between Jackson and Overton counties. Hwy 136 No and So Hwy 293 East and West above that intersection. Maybe if you asked for a picture on one of those, and specify to just give good location you would get better results, I had deleted the message from the photo responder and it is not in my Trash Mail so guess it got cleaned out. Sorry.

Im not sure where. It is located. And I belive that old cemetary become property of their new land owners unless it was stipulated in the deed. I had requested photos of the suttons because I am related and a person replied back on all of them in that cemetary and stated the land owner refused to let them cross their property to get to the graves. Sorry I am not more help

Once you get there it does look like it's way off in the woods. My memories may not be correct in some ways but there is a driveway that is sort of long that leads into the cemetery. I don't know how many headstones that are in the cemetery but 15 graves are already added so you don't have to add them, you should check the Find A Grave page for it and view all the interments that are already added so you don't re-add them. If this is the real cemetery there should be a sign that says Moses Wilson Cemetery. Also if you go to the cemetery, try to find the grave of Sally McCowan, I do not know the birth or death date, she was my great-grandpa's older sister that died at birth in 1930. I know it was in 1930 but I do not know what the exact date is.

I finally found a clearing on Tyler Point Rd! It took me since about September, but I found it! There is a little gravel driveway looking thing and it leads to a big clearing in the middle of the woods there are only 2 trees in the clearing and are side by side (this is what I saw on satellite) and it is how it looks in real life. The coordinates are: 36.210667, -85.350087. I am 99.9% sure that this is Moses Wilson Cemetery.

By the way, I looked at your dad's memorial - what a wonderful tribute. It truly is beautiful and I can tell he must have been a terrific man to be so dearly loved. One of the nicest ones I have read, you wrote it beautifully.

I'm glad you are so cautious. Sorry to have caused such confusion. After going back over everything, I found where I ended up getting the two of them crossed.
To start at the top, William Buckner Ledbetter (1760, NC - 1840, TN; 74061220) and Tabitha Jones (1765, NC - 1850 TN; 74061383) were the parents of four sons. One son was Jones Ledbetter (1799, GA - 1870, TN; 38093275); he was married to Ann Jones (1801, TN - 1852, TN; 38093386) and to Elizabeth Craig (1835, TN - ?; 38093540). He is not listed on his parents memorials along with his brothers George, Washington, and Beverly. He is buried in the Buckner Ledbetter Cemetery.
William's son Beverly Ledbetter (1802, GA - 1870, TN; 75146833 and 57943504) and his wife Nancy Robbins (1807, TN - 1836, TN; 75147027)also had a son named Jones Ledbetter (1825, TN - 1862, MO; 75145616). He married Cathrine Nation (1823, TN - 1912, AR; 75145750 and 30607694).
So Jones Ledbetter born in 1799 is the uncle of Jones Ledbetter born in 1825.

This is the information from Ancestry.com Their records show Overton Co., Tn; however, they lived for years in Lavaca, Tx and it is doubtful that their bodies would have been returned there.
Since the burial is unknown on their page, I didn't know if you could change their burial page to the correct location.
If this can't be changed, it is ok. I can just change my personal information. Pat
Thanks for your work with Find-a-Grave. The site is very helpful to me. I rarely have time to had pages but I will try to put more of my family on the site.

I am sorry but I could not tell you how to get back to the cemetery. My aunt took me, it is actually behind a house on private property. She has permishion from the owner of the house to go there. Next time I talk to her I will try and get the address of the house that way it can be located. Sorry I was not more help.

Thank You for the link to the grave of Emma Scott-Randolph-Ogle.
Dan Randolph was my Grand Uncle.
Emma was his wife until he died at a young age. She then married Lawrence Ogle who after the death of Emma married my Grandmother Jim Henry Rodgers-Randolph-Ogle-Smith who outlived three husbands. First my Grandfather Norman Randolph then Mr. Ogle followed by Edward A Smith.
Your link was nice to get for purposes of my tree.
