I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use Ancestry.com , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.

Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.

I enjoy taking and posting photos.

Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.

I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.

I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to Ancestry.com :)

My uncle - Amos G Miller. Born Feb 1833. I thought I had sent this earlier but appears not. Thank you for any help you can give as to where he might be buried. (He died in service at hospital in Quincy).

RE: Pearl Loux
Hi Debra,

Thank You so much, yes please transfer Pearl and her husband to me. Margaret Pearl Omer is the twin sister to Earl and siblings to my grandmother Ethel Helene. They were all very close. I appreciate your help so much! I wish I had pictures of all their headstones.

Thank You

SHOWALTER
I'm very interested in communicating with you in regards to the SHOWALTERS. In particular, I've hit a brick wall with David Showalter 1815-1890, Randolph, Indiana. Husband of Jamima Etter. If you would care to see if you can help me .. thanks.. maryerwin@hotmail.com. His marriage license lists 'John Showalter' as his father.

RE: Silzel
Hi, I just found your message in my old messages. I added another Silzel or two yesterday. The stones only had a first name and I finally made it back to the cemetery to do that. If you have more links let me know. That was at the Oakesdale Cemetery Whitman Co WA
Cheers! Rosalie

RE: Civil War Soldier
There was another son, Hiram E. Wentworth, born on 17 December 1843. Lucy mentioned him in her letter in 1862, when he was a Union soldier doing guard duty in St. Louis, Mo.

John Sullivan
Civil War Soldier
I don't know his final resting place, but John Holden Wentworth of Fulton County, Illinois, was a musician in the 33rd Missouri Infantry Volunteers (USA). The son of Hamlet and Dorcus Wix Wentworth of Fulton County, Illinois. He died on 1 February 1863, probably of disease or exposure, at Helena, Phillips, Arkansas, at age fifteen. He might be buried in the federal cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. We know about him from a letter written by his sister Lucy in December 1862.
