Currently working on virtual Cemeteries for Forsyth Co, Fannin Co and Dawson Co, GA CSA soldiers. If you have a relative that served in either County and he is not on my list, let me know and I'll be happy to add. These brave men deserve all the honor and respect we can give to them; God knows they didn't get any when they returned home; or left dying and dead on the battlefields, buried on the battlefield, in woods, or in shallow forgotten graves. And definitely not from the general public in today's world of PC or those intent on rewriting history and destroying anything remotely related to the Confederacy! To date I have 50 CSA soldiers that I am directly related to and continue to search for more.|
Duplicate memorials: if I have made one, let me know; I will ask FAG administrators to merge into one. They have been very helpful in the past to merge duplicate memorials. When FAG administrators merge two memorials, none of the flowers, etc. are deleted. If you have made a duplicate memorial of one of my memorials, please be kind enought to delete when asked to do so or ask FAG to merge your memorial with mine.
Thanks to everyone who have left flowers and notes on my Uncle: Augustus (Gus or Junior) Byrd (# 48422763), who died in a Japanese Prison Camp in 1943. This brave soldier as well as all others who have served and/or given their life for their Country, in any war or act of aggression, deserve all the honor and respect we can give them.
NO Death certificates, please! Although permisable by FAG, they really are in poor taste and take up space that could be used for photos.
Special thanks to all FAG members who have so graciously transferred memorials to me. Your kindness and generosity are very much appreciated.

Yes. I thought I added the photo to your database but when I checked it wasn't there so I added it.

Joyce, I'm transferring his memorial to you now. I have tons of records for him I'll send you from my ancestry account also. Tania

Joyce, thank you so much for your dedication to these fine men and I agree! I'm more of a reader and researcher but can't seem to get it down on my memorials. I have too many distractions with four grandchildren ages 4 months to six years of age. My heart is in the right place and so many of their stories are in my head. :) I appreciate you very much. I was born in Florida, most of my family from Florida and Georgia but I've lived in Arkansas since I was a small child. Hope your new home and town is a great new start. I'll transfer Lt.H.J.Cox in just a bit. I know his memorial is in great hands with you. I still haven't determined or proved his final resting place. Records state House Cemetery and Barrow Co Ga but I'm not positive. Such a fine person and soldier without a marker doesn't sound correct to me. I think there's a possibility he's buried in a veteran's cemetery but not sure. Tania

Hi Birdgirl, I just wanted to check in with you and let you know I haven't forgotten your great advice. I'm on ancestry and my DNA circles are determining many ancestors in my direct lines. So many discovered discovered! H.J.Cox raised my great grandmother as his daughter but family myth is he was her uncle. After I get my tree in somewhat of a order, I'll focus more on my confederate and union soldier ancestors memorials. Do you have a virtual cemetery for 16th Georgia ? If so,I'd like you to maintain H.J.s memorial and give it the attention it deserves. He was pretty amazing after all the reading I've done on him. Hope your doing good and enjoying this fall weather trying to arrive! Sincerely,Tania

|Patty Valentino||Thank You.....|
...so much for remembering and visiting Sgt. Manno on his Angel Day. That was a very kind and generous thing for you to do, and I appreciate it.
Have a happy evening.

What a sweet thing to do! She was a fantastic fun lady. When she was a teenager, she "borrowed" the family car and took a road trip to California by herself just to prove she could do it!

Thank you, Birdgirl. Looks like a fascinating and helpful site. I'm traveling but will check it out when I get to a desktop again.
I cried when I read the story about your great-grandfather; it gives substance to my own family stories. I bet they walked home together, at least part way. Our family story says it took Grandpa Bill almost a year to get home, which wouldn't surprise me, sick as he was. At the farms they passed, people were so kind and shared the little they had to give.
A cousin kindly sent me copies of Bill's pension applications and loyalty oath as well as the oath signed by his father John Armistead.
