RE: Other children of James Hampton Smith
Oh Shucks! I thought I had at last found my great grandfather.
My great grandfather was Milton Buchanan Smith AKA "Foss" from Tatnall County GA married Martha Ann Stafford of Liberty County GA on Nov. 28, 1883 by Mr. Lowe.
They had 3 children: Ruby Ino Smith Born 9 June, 1884; Ora Belle Smith Born 7 April 1885 (my grandmother); and James Simon Smith Born 11 Feb. 1887.
The above info is recorded in the James Washington Stafford Family Bible.
It was said that Milton and Martha did not get along well and she took the children and went back to live with her parents and nothing is known of what happened to him.
When you said your Milton died in 1864, I knew I had run into another brick wall.
Thank you for answering me and please contact me if ever you hear of something that would help in my search.
Sincerely,
Mitty Courtoy

RE: Folks
Hi

Do you have the names of Jacob Johann Folk's (1762-1845)siblings? From what I can tell, he had a brother named John, but I have not been able to figure out the names of his other siblings.

Thanks,
Lauren

RE: Folks
My great, great grandfather's name was William Holly(born 1789 in SC). His brother's name was John. John also owned Half Moon Plantation. They were from around the Barnwell, SC area. We were always told that they were orphaned and that someone by the name of Dr. Folk or Dr. Faulk took them in and raised them. We know everything about them except their parents/siblings' names and exactly who raised them.

William eventually left SC and moved to Marion county, Florida. His grave is about 5 minutes from my house.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

Lauren

Other children of James Hampton Smith
I have searched for years for Milton Buchanan Smith (also known as "Foss"). I thought I had finally found him listed as a child of JAMES H. SMITH and Mary Ann Flowers in the 1850 and 1860 census of Alachua County, Fl. He is listed as the 6th child named Milton and is 10 years old in 1840. I do not see him listed in the records of James Hampton Smith. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Mitty Courtoy

Folks
Hi Elizabeth,

Are you actually related to the Folk family. My great, great grandfather was an orphan and raised by a Folk family in SC. He was born in 1789. Have you heard any info like this floating around in your family?

Emily Elizabeth Sullivan
Hey Ms Elizabeth!

Looks like we may indeed be kin - at least you and my husband. My husband's Grandmom was born a Baxter, and his Great Great Grandmom was born Emily Elizabeth Sullivan. She married a Baxter, and ended up in Florida, where my husband's family was all the way up into the 1980's. Some are still there today!
Good to meet ya!

RE: leona floyd
Hello, Ms. Leona was a very sweet lady. She was my husband's Grandmother. Calvin Colon DeLoach. Kathrine Floyd McCoy's son. He too has passed unfortunately. He and I have two sons together. Katherine seems to always be on the go. I had the wonderful blessing of knowing Ms. Leona.
You may reach me at cherokeelady_67@yahoo.com.
I have aa little bit of family info.
Sincerely, Michelle DeLoach
