While I have always been fascinated by graveyards, my interest in genealogy started only a few years ago when I started researching my 2nd great grandfather, who died in the Civil War. During that research, I came across this site and my Grandfather Purcell was my first memorial here. Since then, I have found many of my ancestor's gravesites already listed and I have created many more. It's been a fascinating and educating journey.|
Most of my father's relatives were of Irish/Scotch/English descent and from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana, via Philadelphia, Long Island, and Baltimore. My mother's family was among the early Danish immigrants to the Stonington Peninsula in Delta County, Michigan.
Unfortunately, I am a fair distance from all those places and am unable to regularly visit the graves of my family. Find a Grave is the next best thing. I have found many helpful people here that share my interest in preserving our past.
The names I am actively researching are Petersen, Bonefeld, Hoi, Iversen, Allen, Armstrong, Atkinson, Purcell, Ferry, Pollock, Wood, Wiley, Coe and many others.
TRANSFERS, CORRECTIONS, FAMILY LINKS:
I will gladly transfer any memorial of persons to whom I am not related to anyone that is a relative. If I am related to a person and a requestor is a closer relative, I will also be glad to make the transfer. Please make any transfer requests, corrections, or Family linkage requests via the Edit tab on the memorial.
Please be aware that, while I am happy to post obituaries, I will remove the names of individuals that are still living beforehand.
Important: Please include the Memorial Number of parents and spouses when requesting links. I can no longer accept links without this number. I get several requests each day and your update will get done quicker with the memorial number.
NOTE: For quite a while I had issues with my email. Those issues have since been resolved. If you have sent me a request for transfer or to add bio information in the past few months, please resend and I will take care of it.

I am a descendant of the Price/ Hurkman Family and would like you to transfer the following to me. Beulah Price Hurkman # 102996787
Frank E. Hurkman # 102996791
Francis X. Hurkman # 102996790
I would like to connect them to their family.
Thank you in advance for your help.
My name is Dawn Francois # 47242396
I am having a bit of trouble understanding why you declined my edit. Clearly you, or someone, had Sarah Coe hooked up to the wrong Alexander Wiley.
In declining the edit, you left me a message saying they were married in New York in 1774. However, when one looks at his birth date, he wasn't born until 1838! So that would indeed be incorrect.
I was just trying to link family, and that is how I found the mistake. I'm not saying you made the error, but since you are the memorial holder now, all I could do was send the correction to you. I see they are unlinked now, so my edit was actually correct. Thanks! Pam

Thanks for doing this. If you want to transfer this to me, I will gladly handle this. I can then update the one for Allouez with pics and info.
My info is:

Have a great weekend!!!

I'm not sure what the S.O.P. is precisely, but I think you may want to remove memorial 84815050 for Stanley L. Holland. His name appears on the gravestone along with his first wife, but he isn't actually buried there, but rather in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc with his second wife, Meta (Koch) Holland. The memorial ID for that burial is 95208106.

Thanks for the transfer!

Yes, my edit was correct. I sent you a message dated March 20, which you never responded to.
The message was:
"She should be removed as the wife of Alexander Wiley. She is older than his parents and could not possibly have been the correct wife. I am looking to link folks and this spouse goofs it up, as you can see. I thought you would want to know. Thanks!"
As I was going through my sent messages today, I sent another edit, which you declined. (In error.)
I'm glad you realized the mistake and the memorial now makes much more sense. Thanks for your message letting me know. Pam

I was wondering if you have any further info on this family. The father is a great great uncle of my husband and I'm trying to fill in that part of the family.
Thanks for your volunteering!! I do lookups and photos in Bay County, MI, so if you need anything my way?
