RE: DeMoss Thanks for the message. The cemetary is about 50 min from where I live (which I didn't know we when moved out here from SoCal and Arizona), so have been there several times looking for the elusive DeMoss gravestone. Problem the names are pretty much gone on markers pre-1800. The tarp isn't always on there. I would love to be able to identify the grave location and trying to find some registry that would indicate the location. I have traced my DeMoss lineage back to this Louis DeMoss (and turns out my dad was a Louis) as I qualified for Sons of the Revolution. It has been a while since I have worked on family tree stuff but this is getting my juices going again. Greeting from VA.
RE: Hobson, Harbin, Coleburn Believe this is just a coincidence - My maiden name was Hobson and I married a Hall, both of us are from Alabama. I don't recognize any of your ancestor's names. Sorry I can't help.
My early family notes have her buried in Salem, along with her DeMoss grandparents. I know her parents are buried at West Union, but they passed much later than Sarah. The later published cemetery book records missed many of the burials - not just for Salem, but for various cemeteries - and even markers still standing are not listed in the book. Earlier inscriptions named Sarah and my Malinda Franklin as being at Salem. I just wish we have plat maps to reflect WHERE, as I want to put markers on their graves. They have an approx location for my Malinda, so perhaps I can add one for Sarah there too. Please feel free to email me if you would like!
RE: Laura Agnes Smith Martz Hi Sharon, I can't remember if Laura was married to George or not. I descend from Isaac and his first wife Barbara Alice Wright who was known as Allie. I didn't spend a great deal of time focusing on Laura except for when I got together with her descendants. Laura's son Forrest was a very interesting man. My great Aunt Millicent Martz Palmer told me a great deal about him before her death in 2000 (her half Uncle). So did his daughter, Liz Freeman, who sadly passed away in 2012. Let me know how your hubby descends from them and if you are seeking out anything specific on Forrest. I inherited my great Aunt's photo collection and some other family items that may be helpful.
