I brake for Headstones!|
Genealogy and family is the history of ourselves. I am truly amazed why and how I made it on this earth, at this moment in time, after uncovering the hardships of my ancestors, especially during the War for Southern Independence. I enjoy stories and pictures from the past, and passing them along to others, through e-mail and social media.
If I can help others uncover clues to their past, I will feel blessed by the Lord in many way. So please don't be afraid to ask for help.
THE STORY TELLERS - by unknown
We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but,instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before.
We are the storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one.
We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story.
"Those we love don't go away...They walk beside us every day...Unseen, unheard, but always near...Still loved, still missed and very dear."

I had not noticed that anyone put a memorial on Findagrave for Sarah E Estes. Maybe she is buried there. There are only a few graves at Enon and half of them are not marked. I didn't know there was any death record of her on ancestry, will look it up. The last record I saw of her, she was living with George, do you think he was living in Bibb Co. when she passed away? George has another great grandson, William Estes, living close to me in Hamilton. I had no idea he had any family here. William connected with me on Findagrave and now we are Facebook friends. I found Estes graves recently in Hamilton, going to check them out when I have time to see if they are family. It was you who sent the pictures to me wasn't it?

Do you have any idea where George Marion's mother is buried? I can't find any record of her death. The last records on her that I have seen were when she applied for widow's pension and she was living with George at the time. I know where his dad is buried; about 25 miles from where I live.

I am the great-granddaughter of George's brother John Henry. How do I find your ancestry tree and I'll see If I have any you don't have.

|Becky (Bates) Norris||RE: Hambricks Cem|
Reggie, I think the other one that you are talking about is Hambrick Sink. There is a Hambrick Cemetary and a Hambrick Sink cemetary. One of these cemetaries is on Greenberrys property and some of his decendents still live there. Dad totally understands the once twice removed thing but I sure don't... Greenberry is his 3 great, 4 great and 5 great grandfather. Brothers and sisters from the same family married into Greenberrys family.
