Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the course of researching and putting together my family tree, my husband and I have come to realize just how fulfilling it is to have an answer. This site helped us find some of ours. We appreciate the opportunity to help others find theirs.

My husband is a linguist who has a particular interest in Old German gravestones. He's always willing to help translate if desired.

RE: Re: Rebecca Shunk
Fine with me, but it isn't necessary to cite me. I just love to get the correct information on that site. I have found it to be so reliable. I haven't researched the Galt family but I believe there may have been quite a bit of research done. My connection is through the Shunk family.

RE: Re: Rebecca Shunk
The source is The Druggists Circular, April 1908,Page 194. An article on John McKellip The history of an old dining table is given, The table owned by Matthew Galt and was used to serve food to George and Martha Washington on his visit to Taneytown. The table was inherited by Mrs. Rebecca Shunk on Matthews death and at her death her husband Benjamin Shunk became its owner and at his death the old table became the property of his son-in-law, John McKellip. Rebecca Galt married George Grayson on 15 Feb 1825. George died on 22 April 1828 and she married Benajmin Shunk on 12 Feb 1835. I have no children identified from the marriage of George and Rebecca.

Thank you for posting the picture of my Mother's memorial. Just now, after one year, I've checked out Find a Grave only to see the memorial picture was already taken and posted. Thank you.
