Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, and joined the Air Force at an early age. After two careers (USAF and U.S. Capitol Police), two marriages (death and divorce) and wonderful children AND grandchildren, I completely retired and relocated to North Carolina. I enjoy searching the past..., for myself and others.

I have also enjoyed being a contributor to this excellent website. Although Father Time is "catching up, I still periodically visit cemeteries for my own purposes or upon request to photograph and add to graves from that visit. I feel that each memorial I create has a story to tell and will hopefully be found by a loved one. If my entries prove incorrect or incomplete, or you would prefer to replace with your own data, please let me know. I am always willing to make a change for the improvement of a memorial. I will also consider reasonable requests for transfer. Please use the EDIT tab on the applicable memorial(s).

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE A DEATH RECORD ON THE MEMORIALS THAT I MANAGE. If you feel that something pertinent is on the record that I have overlooked in the bio, send me an EDIT request.

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE MULTIPLE PHOTOS OF THE SAME MARKER, AREA, ETC., ON A MEMORIAL. Remember that only five slots are allocated for photographs and excessive photographs of one item may, regretfully, exclude the addition of personal photographs at a later date. It would be nice to receive notice, via EDIT, when any photo is placed on a memorial that I maintain. Thanks in advance.

I do not display a list of Find A Grave Friends..., there are far too many. Rest assured, if you have helped me or I have helped you, then you ARE My Friend.

ADDENDUM: Photographs I have taken at burial locations may be used by others for any legitimate purpose (excluding reposting on other Find A Grave memorials). Hopefully, I would be given credit for the work. Please be aware that personal photographs of family, etc., may fall within the purview of copyright as stated in the Find A Grave guidelines.

Please feel free to view the memorials and the personal photographs I have posted, especially those of my deceased wife COLLEEN, my DAD, MOTHER and our extended family, including the Mother and Father of my second wife and her extended family.

RE: re: Blanche Turpin Durham
My apologies. I was taking pictures entire sections of Forest Lawn because it has such a low percentage of graves that have been photographed. Unfortunately, the uploader feature does not let you know if a particular grave already had existing photographs. I've removed the photos.

RE: re: Jewel Thomas Clark Turman
No, sorry, I did not see a plaque for Mr. Turman. All indications are that she is the only occupant of that crypt so, he is either still living or buried elsewhere.

"regarding Marker Transcription, although I have long been prone to omit such in my memorial creations if that wording is clear within the stone's photograph. To me, it is repetitious and serves no purpose"

I like to include the marker transcription, because:
1. If there is ever a compilation of the text of all the memorials, the transcription would then be included.
2. Some people can't see as well as others.
3. The viewer does not have to open the photo in order to read the enlarged text in the photo.
4. I have been able to read some transcriptions that others say is too faded or illegible, and then include it for everyone.

Thank you, David, for your hard work for the relatives of all those who have passed on.

Done. Sorry for the delay, I've been working on another line, deep in the bottom of a cemetery book, lol.

RE: re: Beulah C. Wyatt
Hi David-
Always nice to get more info, thanks. I know Beulah was married to George Wyatt in 1919 and had 2 kids. You said they were divorced which I didn't know. Where did you find the obituary for her? I guess I am just curious why after over 20 years married to John Belton, her gravestone only says "Mother" and not "Wife", and the stone is for "Beulah C Wyatt", not "Beulah Belton". I guess maybe her kids didn't like Belton?
