Hi all, |
I love genealogy and have been at it for over 25 years. That was back in the day, when only scientists had access to the internet and this great site hadn't launched. It's a great hobby that has taken me to some interesting places. And, boy, such interesting people. I love to help folks get started, but a trouble spot that requires more than one head to figure it out, well, that's good, too. Feel free to contact me. If you need a picture, know that I live in Dallas. Pretty big place. If your cemetery is too far, I'll do my best to find someone who can help.
As far as day job, I'm a writer, working on a first novel about a martial artist. Short stories, magazine, newspaper all under the belt. Genealogy has even been the idea for some of my writing--an old prospector in the New Mexico hills.

Was Kitty Turrella your grandmother? I noticed the memorial for Frank and I have linked them.

A survey posted by the US Texas Gen Web, listed Henry S Vick as buried in Elmo Cemetery. It did note that his grave was unmarked which they noted meant that he had no headstone. Hope this helps.

Robin, Sorry to say that it has been six years since I entered the data on the Memorial and I haven't the least idea where I received the information. I will tell you that I am not related to the family even though a large number of my family line lived in Kemper County. I have surveyed too many cemeteries since that time to even remember the names of them.
If you have other questions or if I can help in any manner contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.

I found info for William: Garden of Freedom, space 3, lot 9, block B. Bill was my father-in- law. His dad and mom, James Douglas & Margaret are: Court of Freedom, crypt 24, Tier K. Could you also take pictures of headstones.

That's lots of time, trouble, and expense. Typing on a tablet can be hard!

Regarding this photo request claim, Urn Garden, Block P, is part of the Scattering Garden adjacent to the Urn Garden. Mr. Kendrick's ashes were scattered in this area without a marker. I have a photo of the area and had planned to post it with an explanation to the requester. If you'd like to "un-claim" that request, I'll be glad to fulfill it.
As a matter of course, when we have a Restland request without a specific location, I send a message to the requester asking that they call the Restland office for the location. While the office is very helpful, they do prefer that family members contact them for locations.
That being said, most requesters do not call and after a week to ten days, I'll email or call but limit the requests to 1 or 2 as the office is busy.
If I get any locations for the requests you have claimed, I'll let you know or, if the person who created the memorial is also the requester, they may add the location. You'll just need to watch.
Many requesters don't have a grasp of the size of Restland and then what goes into getting a good photograph.
Let me know if you have any questions: email@example.com.
