Lane Family (cont.)
At the very least, we are cousins through the Lane line, or through Richard Warren via his daughter, Anna (Warren) Little.

Parents of Samuel Smith Lane I
I have been looking for the parents of Samuel Smith Lane I. According to "The Ancestors & Descendants of Samuel Smith Lane I & Louiza Simons Lane; also of John Samuel Hughes & Ann Eliza Steddings Hughes; and of John Emery Dudley & Frances Burlingame Dudley"; Research by Irene May Hall Lane & Kirk Anthony Ellsworth (with help from our relatives); Updated & Complied by Marie Frances Lane Shelley; April 2008, it has been presumed that his parents were Samuel Lane and Abigail (unknown) Lane. Ironically, the birth and death dates I have for Abigail (unknown) Lane are the same dates you have for Samuel Lane (abt. 1789-abt. 1855), who is buried at Valleyville Burial Ground. The name for Samuel Smith Lane I's mother-in-law was Abigail Simons. I'm not sure whether some of the genealogical info has been mixed up. However, I was wondering whether you have any information on any children of Samuel Lane & Elizabeth Haviland Lane? If so, this could help to find out whether they are related or not. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
LM Oughterson

May I have your permission to use a copy of the photo of the above named ancestors' grave marker for their individual pages on my family tree? They are my 7th great grandparents. Thank you for your consideration!!

RE: Duplicates
Hi Chris-thanks for the response. Leave your duplicates, its just that other folks will probably email you as well to inform you of your dupes. I know I always appreciate it when someone tells me I have a duplicate. Some of mind are intential, because the first listing is incorrect, and the listing person refuses to make any corrections. Luckily, that happens rarely. Irma

Hello-I'm curious as to why you are creating duplicates when an entry already exists?? Why not send your information to the person who already listed it? One example is #61034909, one of several in the Cedar Grove cem in New London. I'm sure the listing person will be glad to add the links, and you can add your photos. Please delete all of your duplicates, I'm sure you know which ones they are... irma

It appears that he was a private in Co. E, 54th Regiment Georgia infantry that signed up in Columbus. I am in the process of completing a history of the 54th Georgia and plan to include find a grave information where I can find it.

I just discovered that there appears to be a duplication of a grave at Purchase.

The duplicate is Find A Grave Memorial# 38530547
Would you be willing to delete this memorial? This will make research on find a grave easier. I noticed Pat created the original memorial which she transfered to you and I would suggest that memorial stay on findagrave as she originated the memorial.

Many thanks!

Charles Joseph Haviland # 38583741
According to The Haviland genealogy, the death year for Charles Joseph Haviland # 38583741 should be 1844. I cannot see a date on his tombstone.

add parents link please
I have recently visited the Quaker cemetery in Queensbury, where I found and photographed my ancestors gravestones. Both Nathaniel and wife Grace Sisson were not listed in find a grave. It was a privilege to add them to this web site, as I use it often.
We are connected thru the SISSON's and HAVILAND's. Ruth Sisson 1797-1837 married Roger Haviland. Lydia Sisson married Joseph Haviland. Both Ruth and Lydia SISSON are buried in the Quaker cemetery, as are their parents. I would be delighted if you could add a family link to them. Their father is Nathaniel M# 116038401 and their mother is Grace Gifford Sisson memorial # 116038729.
I read that Nathaniel died at his son-in-laws house Joseph Haviland.
Thank you in advance for adding the parents link, I appreciate it.
