|Cindy Taylor||? Duncan|
Cindy Taylor here. I believe I contacted you previously, being related to the Duncans in Duncan Cemetery. Someone on Ancestry has put a lot of Austin misinfo on Ancestry about the branch of Austins that I am related to, including Elizabeth Austin Duncan. They are saying she is Alta Elizabeth, who I believe is George Duncan's wife, according to headstones in the Duncan Cemetery. But my question is: is the headstone engraved with "...Duncan, wife of CT Duncan" who died in 1878, is that Elizabeth Austin Duncan (my great aunt)??? It is SUCH a difficult family to research and make absolute sense out of! Charles T. Duncan, my great uncle by marriage, married a younger sister of Elizabeth's, Margaret or Maggie. They are both buried at the T.H. Brown Cemetery, Oak Grove. I am almost sure that ? Duncan is Elizabeth, not Alta Elizabeth. What do you think?

Thanks for creating the record for my grandmother Agnes. I found the grave and submitted the coordinates. This was my first time and I learned that a minus sign is important for longitude; otherwise, you end up in China.

|Joseph StCloud IRWIN||Mary Kavanaugh|
Mary is buried in the Irwin plot with 5 infant
children of S.H.& J.S. Irwin. From an old Irwin
bible of Mary Hamilton Chiles Irwin, it is said
that Mary Kavanaugh was the D/O Rev William W
Kavanaugh of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church
Indep. 1832 further that she married Samuel James
Irwin ca. 1830. one of their children was J.S.
Irwin and his wife Sarah. No surviving issue ?
Samuel had two brothers, William Lee Irwin &
Martha Ann Lucas and Joseph Chambers Irwin &
Mary Hamilton Chiles both well known around Indep
He also had two sisters Susan Hall Irwin,
Elizabeth Ann Irwin & John Parker. All of this
leads me to ask you if you know was Mary Kavanaugh
married to Samuel Irwin ? or why is she buried in the Irwin plot ? This is a big piece of the
Irwin puzzle. I would be interested in your
thoughts as I have been working on this since
1977. Sorry for the wordy message. Thanks !
|grandmacarol||Confederates in Concord Cemetery, Cooper County|
I recently sent you a note concerning Riley Crawford and the grave location for him that I found in historical society records.
I thought you might be interested to know that there are two more confederate soldiers who died that same year (I'm guessing in the same skirmish), who are also buried in that cemetery.
They are Joshua Lampton # 133882443 and a Jones whose first name is unknown, #133882729
Going through some old emails, discovered I owe you a LONG overdue thank you for a transfer. Even though I'm late, it's still much appreciated.

|Leonard Louis Meador||Lelia J Ruggles, Memorial# 40722213|
I noticed on her marriage license her date of birth was given as September 7, 1907 as opposed to September 4, 1907 on her grave marker. Not sure which is correct.
Also gives her place of birth as Purdin, Missouri and widowed 3 times.
