Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been involved in Genealogy for over 27 years. Became a Professional Genealogist in about 2008. I have an Associate of Science Degree in Science that was awarded on 16 Jun 1982. I am presently working on my Certification Portfolio for my CG. Found Find-A-Grave in October 2009, and joined. I feel that it is a good way to keep the memory, of those who have passed away, alive. Will transfer a relative to you, unless it is my relative also.

Quoting another FAG contributor and agreeing.

"I think it is a real shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some. Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these were people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
With my apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them".

I would like to thank Contributor Bernice for this thought, and also say that I agree with her and the original poster.

RE: Mary Alice Watkins
Thanks! I appreciate you (as always). My book is almost done. I've signed with a publisher and looking to have it to them by December. I'm writing on the last generation now (John Andrew's generation). I'm not going down any further then that, because I don't want to write on people that may be alive.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

RE: Edits
No problem. Please check my work for accuracy especially when it is your family member. I add what "I think I know" but always defer to those with first-hand knowledge! Thank you for all the memorials.

This is just to let you know that I will be fulfilling your photo request with a photo of the area only. There is no headstone. I am always disappointed when this happens. I am sorry this was not a positive outcome.

Best Regards,

RE: Wilson Cemetery, Mountain City
Anthony, I have changed the name of Andrew Jackson Wilson to Andrew Wilson. After going through all my records on him, I could not find Jackson as a middle name. I may have picked it up from a child of his. I was working on his family for a long time and getting lots of info because I was following other's work. One of his children, John Alexander Wilson and his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Stout, was listed as the mother of my grandmother. For years, I have worked on this assumption. Then I had the tombstone of the Elizabeth Stout who was really my ggrandmother and with some research found that John Alexander's family was not mine.

I found Isaac's name on the 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses. There were also his Confederate military records with Isaac. One of the records, I can't remember which one, had reversed the names and gave it as Ervin Isaac. Anyway, his marriage record was Isaac also.

Hope this helps. Would you like these two transferred to you since they are not my family?
