Oscar F Matterson
There is an amusing error in your memorial for Oscar F Matterson (97728281). Oscar John Matterson is NOT the father of Oscar F. Oscar F was born in 1831, while Oscar John was not born until 1896.
Oscar F is actually the son of Nathan W Matterson and Sarah "Sally" Bardwell. Although there are no memorials for Nathan and Sarah, I believe that they are probably buried in the Burlington Green Old Presbyterian Churchyard since they were long time residents of the Town of Burlington and three of their daughters are buried there: Climena Matteson (112303834), Clarinda Matteson (112303906) and Phianna P Matteson Fish (127734646).
Oscar John Matterson is actually the grandson of Oscar F, not the father. Oscar John is the son of Frank K Matterson (97814376) and Lulu Glab (no memorial found.
Also, Eliza Matterson Jenks (97808435) is NOT the daughter of Oscar John Matterson. She is actually another daughter of Natan W and Sarah.

RE: David & Sarah Matteson

So are you thinking that like there are two Gideon Mattesons, there may also be two David and Sarahs?

I have two different lists of children from David and Sarah,

Edinburg Hill
The picture is now on the correct cemetery - Edinburg Hill and all the memorials are now correct - so all is fine.

Gideon Matteson

My friend Dave Lehman contacted you about my relative Gideon Matteson.

I think I may have found the link between Gideon Freeborn Matteson and my (our) Gideon Matteson.

Henry and Hannah Matteson had 7 children according to the monument. Henry, Thomas, Joseph, Francis, Hannah, Hezekiah and Josiah.

Gideon Freeborn Matteson came from Henry's line, my Gideon Matteson came from Francis' line.

I did a search on David and Sarah Matteson's Gideon (from a relative's e-mail.) and found the links.

Can you look at this tombstone and tell me if "Etta" is on it and what it exactly says?

I can't see all the words and dates on that tombstone.

RE: Bishopville Cemetery
Hi! I'm sorry, but I couldn't find this cemetery either. When I was back in New York a couple of years ago, I went to Bishopville. The Almond Historical Society website says it is located on a hillside about 1/10 of a mile from the Bishopville Church. The church we found had just let out, so we asked if anyone knew where the cemetery was, but no one was able to help us. They sent us to a couple of other cemeteries near by, but they were not it. The website for the Almond Historical Society says the photos were taken by Mary Rhodes in 2005. It says the cemetery is in sad shape with ground hog holes all over and monuments toppled. It also says many are missing since it was read in 1961 and it is covered waist high with ferns. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe if you contact the Almond Historical Society, they can tell you where it is? I didn't have the time when I was back there. I would be interested to know if you do locate it. My second great grandparents are buried there.
