I just sent you a few edits for Mary Elizabeth Balch Allen. Your photo is the correct headstone. I saw a notation about the headstone inscription in my grandfather's family Bible. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the entire verse, and Papa's Bible "disappeared" after he died. I do remember it was based on Psalms. I have linked her to husband Luman; Mary Elizabeth died just four months after they were wed.

|Todd Walker||RE: Bancroft (again)|
Sorry; I was just a little too quick with my last message. I do have just one very distant Bancroft relation. Mary (Donaldson) Bancroft, buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lapeer, was a sister to my great-great grandmother. I'm afraid I don't know anything more or if she might have a connection to Silas and Betsey.

I'm afraid I have no Bancroft relations. If you should find your Bancrofts buried in the Pittsburgh area, I may be able to help with headstone photos.

My husband is his great grandson.

I appreciate your info. I have been looking into this today and so have found that Mary & Samuel had only three children. They were married in 1870.
Manley Winfield 1874 – 1896
Winifred Winfield 1877 – 1904
George W Winfield 1880 – 1938
Mary died in 1898. Samuel was around age 54 at the time of her death.
My main connection in my tree is with Winifred.
Sorry I couldn't help more but I believe your data is reliable and worth my looking further into it.

I'm not a relative. Just a volunteer in the neighborhood;) Sorry.

Yes, I don't mind if you use the photo - which I see that you did already! Sorry I didn't answer right away. I've been staying at the hospital with my mother-in-law and have been away from my computer.
The photo is of a poor quality. Perhaps I can get a better one when I go look for Dasie's! (Her photo request came to me along with several other people who do requests in this area.) I'm not doing photos for a bit more yet, though. It's cold out there!! We are suppose to have a couple of inches of snow tonight! However, warm temperatures are coming this weekend to melt it away. I might be able to get out to do photos next week.
Have a great week!
