Some of my best memories as a child were visiting cemeteries and "grave hunting" with my wonderful grandparents and Mother. My grandparents eventually authored a genealogy called "A Tide Which..."-a study of the Pentecost family genealogy. Their love for researching, writing bios and discovering photos to create a family story obviously rubbed off on me-I love it! |
I'm a happily married Mom of three fantastic kids and I live a very blessed life! With two daughters in elementary school and a son who is starting his sophomore year at Vanderbilt University, along with running my own business-I'm pretty busy! when I'm able, I do all I can to help anyone in need of finding local headstones or anything else! I've been very blessed to have many wonderful people on findagrave who have been willing to search for info for me-this is a wonderful community!

|Connie Payne Phillips||RE: Roller Cemetery|
I don't know if I have gotten back to you or not concerning the Roller cemetery... My life has been really crazy this past year and I haven't been keeping up with issues as I should have for dealing with parents failing health and other issues.. Please forgive me for my lack of Southern Manners...
As for the Roller Cemetery, yes they are all relatives of mine... And I am very interested in what has been done to document the cemetery... Thank you for the work that I know has to have gone into that task..
And in the future I'll try to do a better job at staying on top of things..

I have transferred the memorial to you. So glad to have "found" the tombstone and able to create the mrmorial.
|Judith Nan Lewis||RE: McCord Memorials|
Have transferred all McCord and Hudson Memorials to you.
Until Later....God Bless,
|Judith Nan Lewis||Hudson Family in Forrest|
I'm not related to the Hudson Family members in Forrest Cemetery.
I am always happy to transfer memorials to their family, unless they are memorials for people who are in my own family lines.
Would you like for me to transfer all of the Hudson memorials that I have...to you?
I will go ahead and transfer those you mentioned in your e-mail and you can let me know about the others.
Until Later.....God Bless,
|Maria Gilliland (Headstone Hunter)||Frank Newton Hudson M.D.|
I am not related but I try to help out whenever I can. I live just above Blount county so I will be happy to look for photos of others if you need. Also, if I have any accts you would like transferred, please just let me know. I credited the book that the pic came out of if you wanted to locate a copy as well.

I'm so sorry. I didn't remember that there is a suffix option before the first name. I did go ahead and add the edit, as you had requested in the edit tab.
Until Later.....God Bless,

Oh, but your own hard work is so much appreciated! I know what it looked like before and thought you were mighty brave to tackle what lived in those weeds. Not to mention the Christmas tree I found just inside the gate. Wandered by early this year after it had been cleared (who knew?!), and, not knowing you were close by, took advantage of having a camera in the car. There are still some stones I missed.
We'll get more stories posted eventually, and everyone linked, and maybe find some more family photos. Would really like for you to enjoy your next neighborly visit, or at least give you something to take your mind off the creepy crawlies! Thanks for everything you've done. Your Tom & Bettie King photo, especially, set the works in motion.

There were several similar hand etched markers next to Yancey's. Right next to him was Jessie Coe Jones.
On the other side was Charlie Monroe Coe. Maybe she remarried to a Coe. I took pictures of all the markers around his. Send me all the info on Susie and I'll see what I can find. I have both the Wayne County Cemetery books.

Thank you so much for scrambling inside the fence and taking those photos. Hope you had someone in there at your back, preferrably with a hoe or shovel to beat off the snakes? You are a brave and diligent soul, adventurous at the least, and your efforts are greatly appreciated!

I am working on the whole Carroll County, so let me know if you need anything, I probable have an obit or something. I didn't have much on Hays, so if you have dates for me I probably can help you more. I am also a paid member to Ancestry and have a Carroll County Family Tree.
