Hi, I'm a retired educator. I've been working on genealogy since 1961 for a school project. It has become a passion. My family has been keeping records for over a hundred and twenty years. I have records for the following surnames: Adams Basner Bruns Carey Case Chase Freeman Gilbert Haines/Hanes/Haynes Hillis John/Johns Keath/Keith Logan Moore(Rev. Joseph Moore ancestors & descendants) Pearce/Pierce/Peirce Phelps Rosenberger Stanley Stringer Trenary Varvel Vennum and their off-shoots. Find A Grave has helped me locate burials of ancestors who were lost. I love strolling through cemeteries and taking photos of family name stones (sometimes they actually connect with my family).
I believe everyone was someone and should be remembered. Some folks are lost to family, some have no one remaining and others are simply forgotten. So if you care to add a token to our military members, infants or individuals under a surname feel free to remember them. I thank you and bless you for taking the time to honor their memories. Leave public message. | |

 | RE: Oscar W.MOORE & Amanda F. CHESTERTON Sorry, Mary, but I disagree with you. I don't think Chesterton is the last name; I think it's ChesterSon. In each census I found for Amanda, it is consistently ChesterSon. In each place I found her father, it is ChesterSon also. More likely, the headstone is incorrect.
We should exchange email addresses. I don't feel comfortable putting any disagreements we might have out there for the world to see. My address is ruthnbill2@frontier.com. | | | Ruth Griffin
 | RE: Oscar W.MOORE & Amanda F. CHESTERTON I went back and looked for Amanda again. Found her. Don't know why I missed her the first time., BTW - her surname is CHESTERSON. Maybe that's why I missed her. Thanks for your help. Hope you don't mind if I point things out. I try not to be critical of others' work; but if I make a mistake, I want someone to tell me. Hopefully, you feel the same. | | | kaschu
 | My Mom Dear Mary,
I hope very much that your are gaining ground with your illness. That has got to be a great burden for you, and I pray that God gives you the strength to carry on.
I am very sorry to tell you that I lost my mother June 4. She was hospitalized May 14 with pneumonia and a nasty lung infection. Given the seriousness of her illness and complications of existing health problems, it was just too much of a hill for her to climb.
I know that your correspondences with Mom over the years meant a lot to her and I thank you for that.

 | David Hanes & family I am working on my son-in-law's family tree, his mother was a Hanes. I would be very grateful if you would allow me to use your photos on ancestry in his tree, giving you credit of course. Please email me at dogeared2127@gmail.com, I want to be able to surprise him when he returns from firefighting in Colorado. He will see a public message on findagrave. Thank you so much for your consideration, Cindy | | | Ruth Griffin
 | RE: Oscar W.MOORE & Amanda F. CHESTERTON I read about your reunions on Jesse's Find A Grave memorial. I liked the write-up where all got together and bought him a new sofa. I still wonder how they got it in and in place without him knowing.
As for Amanda, I looked at Sheldon Cemetery and didn't find her there. I'll have to look again.
Do you have a tree on ancestry? I'd love to check out your tree.
