I would like to thank everyone whose hard work has been so beneficial to researchers world-wide. This is an amazing website!|
Also, a special thanks goes out to the volunteers in my area who have done such a wonderful job. You all are my inspiration.
My mission is to pay it forward by helping others find ancestors who have been lost by time, distance, and untold stories.

|Debbie B||Hugh Barclay|
Hi again, D. L.,
In doing a little more research on the Barclay family, I have found that Hugh Barclay, husband of Luann Hall Barclay, was one of the founders of Logan college there (a women's school which has closed). So I am surprised that there's no Find A Grave memorial for him--he must have been a community leader. Since I'm not in your area, I would have a hard time researching him--but I like to get all the dots connected.
I guess what I'm asking is if you could look for a marker for him, or if you have any other local resources. He was born about 1803, Virginia. Thanks for any help.

D. L., thanks so much for taking the time to go out, find, and document the final resting places of the Barclays. Great photo! I also appreciate the fast turnaround, and all you do for Find A Grave!

Debbie, I was wrong about Clarence Segars not being listed in the cemetery book. His niece had told me her grandmother was buried there with no stone.

Debbie, that looks okay to me. In 1850 James W was 18 @home with parents L.A. and Quinney Cary. In 1860 he was 28, living @ home with Mother Quinney Cary-five brothers and two sisters. In 1870 he was 39 still @ home with his mother and 4 siblings. he married Mary Shutt 7 Nov.1877. His mother had died in April 1877
