I am more than glad to transfer management of any entry that I am not directly related to. I think Find A Grave is a useful tool for family history searches, but personally I think it is awesome to have a place where EVERYONE can have their own little memorial space. Therefore many of my entries are not my family, but rather my effort to provide a memorial for as many as possible. I also welcome correction requests and will update any memorials that need it.|
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Mike Gillett||Clark family...|
Are you kin to the Alexander and John J. Clark then? My wife is descended from them. I posted an image of John from the Civil War here. I have another of his wife, Isabella, that I will scan and download to her page here. Where did you get the one photo of her? Thanks!

|Sandra Nokes||RE: William Twedell|
I am just happy you made spots for them, otherwise I would know where they were. Thank you for that.
|Sandra Nokes||William B Twedell|
Hello, I am wondering if you are related to or know anything about William B Twedell, who you have posted here. I am trying to find my step-mother's family. She died in 1988 and there isn't a lot to go on. William would be her Grandfather. I would love to find a family member who could help. Thank you. And if you are not a family member, Thank you again, for putting him here, so I could find him.
"Denver passed away on Sept 1st, his obit is on the Roberson Funeral Home webpage."
There is a duplicate memorial.
Thank you very much for this information. I've added the obit to Denver's memorial. I also pointed out the dup.....this guy is real good about pointing out the rules to others but not following them himself. He not only made a duplicate memorial, he failed to site the source of the obit. Thanks again.

Did you ever hear back from any of Aunt Stella's kids. Did you find Mary Ort?
|Goddess||Leah Wilcoxson Trullinger|
Thank you very much for the links to my dear cousin Leah's parents and first husband.
I appreciate your help.

And thank you for visiting my little angels too. You're so right about the pain of loosing little ones. My grandson Brendon would've be 10 tomorrow if he were still here. lt will be 8 years in Dec since he past away unexpectedly in my arms and l've only just cleared out his bedroom (he lived with me)and redecorated it for his little brother when he stays over. We have a pain that never goes away, we just learn to live with it. l do find comfort in visiting other little ones on here, especially the ones that don't get so many visitors.

I do thank you for this transfer. I understand the finding more and more cousins via the Find A Grave pages. This site is amazing in the connections I have found. And ever so good when postings/posters such as yours have enabled me to add information to my evergrowing family history database. Your time and efforts are so much appreciated.
