What a wonderful site this is for finding relatives! My grandfather, James Elliott O'Neal,Sr., was born in Cyrene,Decatur Co.,Ga.,in 1869 to John Alphaeus and Martha Savage O'Neal. He died in Lake Worth, Fla., in August of 1936 and is buried in Hillcrest Ctm.,West Palm Beach,Fla. His parents are buried in the Old O'Neal Burying Ground in the field behind the O'Neal Oak Tree on land owned by Luke Spooner in Seminole County,Ga. The original home was a two story double-pen log house which no longer exists but the cemetery does where my 19th century relatives are buried.
