The surnames I am researching include Piper, Gordon, Case, Lowerre, Cordier, Baker, Hodge and Cuddeback, among many others. I am as interested in my collateral branches as I am in direct lineal ancestors. I have a deep connection to the early pioneers and settlers of Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties of New York.|
I will gladly make updates/corrections to any of the memorials I have added to Find A Grave and will transfer those that are not in my family tree. Just be patient as it may take me several weeks to respond. You can use the Edit and Transfer tabs or contact me via email.
The work I have done on this site, and hope to continue, is strictly a genealogical labor of love. When I am in a cemetery looking for my own family I am happy to take photos of other gravestones. Many of the entries I have made come from obituaries or news items that I come across in my research, and therefore may not have a photo attached. I strongly believe in adding such biographical data, even though it may not be accurate, because it sometimes provides that elusive clue, or even a place to start. In many cases I've added memorials but have not had time yet to transcribe the obituary. You are welcome to contact me to ask if I have an obit in my files.

|ATJ||Alfred Gordon @ Laurel Grove|
Hi Vivian! It's been a long time since our last contact (I'm on again, off again, here at find-a-grave)Just wanted to let you know I posted a pic of Alfred's headstone & apologize for not having anything handy to clean it before shooting the photo! You are welcome to download, photoshop and reload. Note the birth year. Will try to remember to reshoot next time I am in the vicinity ... hadn't realized it was one of your far flung Gordon tribe.
Hope all is well,

|Grant Davis||RE: Maria Allen Thompkins|
Thank You for you response on Maria Allen Tompkins. Spent time on the Allen Family yesterday. Finally tied Lydia A Allen (65661327) to her daughter Elizabeth (83424081), and found other members of the Allen Family.
|Grant Davis||Sarah Allen|
I believe Elizabeth Sherwood Allen went mostly by Betsey Sherwood Allen. I checked the Fulton Post Card site. Found two entries:
Alson - Tompkins P -reth Sherw (could not tell what it was)
Monticello NT Republican Watchman
1829-1831 - Grayscale - 0407 pdf
(checked the page as well but part was unreadable)
Sherwood Alson Tompkins
Monticello NY Republican Watchman 1829-1831 Grayscale 0403 pdf
|Grant Davis||Betsey Sherwood|
Betsey Sherwood was the name used on her tombstone, I believe as he wife of Reuben Allen.
|Grant Davis||Maria Allen Thompkins|
I would like to prove that Maria Allen was the daughter of Reuben and Elizabeth Sherwood Allen. It seems like it could be but just need a little more proof that it is. If I could find her obituary that would help, and I will look in Fulton Postcards for it. Thank you for all you do. Regards, Grant Davis
Could you tell me please which Tombstone Darius Richard Mitteer is Buried in? You have 2 of them on here. 116181068. one says Richard Mitteer with 1st wife and the other one says Darius Richard Mitteer with 2nd wife when she dies.
Thank You So Much
Thanks to all of your great work, I figured out that we are related by marriage. Your GGGG Grandfather Caleb was the uncle of George W. Baker who married my G Grandfather's sister. Thanks for all the pictures and information; it helped me figure out my mother's father's side of the family. Can you link my mother (79976420) to her father, James E. Griffin (26699726).
