Happily unattached, traveling nurse anesthetist with a passion for genealogy, outdoors, and photography. I enjoy recording and sharing cemeteries I find in my travels with people on FAG. I am not related to most of my memorials; please let me know if I can transfer a relative of yours to you. I enjoy doing photo requests and try to take a few extra pictures while I am there. I try to prepare the stone for a nice picture but don't always have my tools with me (the airlines frown on gardening tools in luggage!) to trim grass, wash bird droppings, etc. Please let me know if I've made some typos and I will correct ASAP. Also, please let me know if you get a better photo and I will delete mine. I'll be always grateful to one of my high school English teachers, Marjory Sharp, Find A Grave Memorial# 117584719, for assigning a four generation pedigree chart and to my great grandmother, Eva Alta Jackson Yeokum, Find A Grave Memorial #20165966, who lived next door and helped me fill it out the night before it was due!|

January 2012 - I am working to "link" my memorials. Links weren't around when I started here, so I'm having to do some serious backtracking! Thanks to everyone that sends additional information for the memorials--I get 10-20 emails a week--please be patient as I work on getting all this added, too.

Thanks for the message. I'm in the middle of moving house but will work on the admins to join the two names into one cemetery and to eliminate any duplicates.
Travel safely and return in good health!
Thanks for all you do for Find A Grave.
|John Fleming||Grave picture?|
I am 99.9% positive I had a better picture for Rocky Marciano Williams in Find A Grave before this current one was entered. I have no idea why it was removed. The picture that is in Find A Grave now has an empty cup next to the headstone which really looks bad and it should have never been entered. When I go back to the gravesite, I will take a better picture and insert it.
Thanks, John Fleming

Hello Kathy Margrave Thank you very much for the transfer of Inez.
|Carmelita&Maryn||Wild Heron aka Emma Grove Cemetery|
Thank you for the message. I respect your opinion.
Continuing research on local families shows me that this cemetery is known by two names; Wild Heron Cemetery as you have listed it and also known as Emma Grove Cemetery.
In published obituaries some families choose to use the name Wild Heron; others use the name Emma Grove. Some Find A Grave volunteers cannot walk cemeteries due to age/physical limitations and rely on obituary information to create memorials; this resulted in two cemeteries on Find A Grave. There are several memorials which are duplicates; information will need to be merged.
(Oh, and I admit I was in error). It is known as neither Georgetown nor Savannah by the local people; it is known as the Burroughs Community or just as Burroughs which is also an available choice on the drop down list for Find A Grave in Chatham County.
I will hold off adding more names to the Emma Grove Cemetery until I hear from you. Please advise.
Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave.
|Carmelita&Maryn||Wild Heron Cemetery|
Hello and Happy New Year,
To avoid confusion can I ask that you please make a small correction?
You have placed Wild Heron Cemetery in Georgetown, Chatham County, Georgia.
The area known as Georgetown is not a separate town; it is part of the city of Savannah. The Wild Heron Cemetery should be listed in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia or you could say Savannah (Georgetown section), Chatham, Georgia and that would be accurate also.
The town named Georgetown is in Quitman County.
Also, perhaps you had visited and taken the photos after a storm. The cemetery is clean and well maintained; there are no trees covering the graves.
Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave.
