I was introduced to Geneology in 1980. I've been addicted ever since. |
I am THRILLED to make transfers to ANYONE provided they are going to improve & take care of the memorials and that I have not placed a RED FLOWER on it. BRIGHT RED FLOWERS indicate my family, relatives and V.I.P.'s. I won't usually transfer these memorials. I'm not picky about relationship, family or not. Just because I walked into a cemetery with a digital camera or I opened a cemetery book and created memorials does not mean I own anything or have the right to be difficult or greedy ....... I promptly fix mistakes and delete doubled memorials, please let me know! These memorials belong to US as a group and they are actually OWNED by Ancestry.com.- not me.
The TOMBSTONE and LOT pictures I have placed are yours to use for other genealogical purposes to include other sites.
This site is not called "Find-a-Document".
Documents take up what limited space there is for photographs of the PERSON, HOUSE, or tombstone and GRAVE AREA. Please respect the memorials I manage and resist posting copied paperwork or certificates to where the photographs belong.
If you have some corrections, requests, links, additional info., ect., PLEASE use "EDIT" tabs located on upper right side of each memorial for all these things, not this Bio. page or my Email. Thank you for your time and any help or corrections you can send!!!! !
I have great respect for "UNKNOWN BURIALS". If you have OLD memorials that are "unknown burial" and you want to move it to the proper cemetery just because you found my memorial posted there, fine, I am still HAPPY to delete my memorial provided yours is older and more complete. I will even move my grave pictures to your memorial if you prefer. Let us NOT have doubled memorials!

I see where you have some Smiths as relatives. Are you related to George W. Smith 1870 - 1941?
He I believe is the father of Maude E. Smith Schaefer. 1911 - 1994. I want to connect them but want to be sure I have the right ones before doing so. Maude's fathers name was Smith and her mothers name was Thrush. If you can help ?
|Christine Wells-Leddon||Joseph Mahaffie & Letitie (Wells?) Mahaffie|
I am looking into the siblings of my g-g-g-grandfather Francis Wells of Coshocton County, Ohio. One of his siblings was Letitia (Wells) Mahaffey who married a Joseph Mahaffey (and who may be the same Letitia Mahaffey among your findagrave accounts.)
Are you related to her by any chance? Do you think it would do any good to contact the cemetery to see what they know?
I appreciate any help & insight you might be able to provide.

I do usually look at the people buried nearby to see if there are relatives making ancestry tracing easier. I’ve added the picture for you. Yes, thankfully Acacia has some of the obits attached to their records, which is unbelievably helpful. I usually go to Acacia every month or sooner depending on the amount of requests (the gentleman and woman that work in the office just let me have at the records and don't charge money). I can tell you that they ARE in the process of adding their hard copies (up to the H's since last summer!) into a computer spreadsheet and eventually creating a website to upload the spreadsheet to. I will look up any other Shannon’s for you next time I am there. I will have a look at Grace’s burial card to see if she has an obit attached to her as well. Depending on how many Shannon’s are buried there, I will just make a list for you and we can worry about grave photos at a later time. Thank you! I enjoy doing this stuff, perhaps I should be in college for something of the like rather than business, but alas I am not and will just have to have it as a hobby for now. If you have any other requests for Acacia, you can contact me directly if you’d like!

Todd, I've fulfilled your request for Robert Shannon (76531374). I also have a picture of his wife's grave marker. She does not have a memorial page, would you like to create one? Otherwise I can. -Rebecca

That's okay, I didn't take it like that. I hope you are feeling much better.
Wow, thank you so much for doing that - way above the call of duty for certain! I can't wait to see what all you have found and added to the listing.
I really appreciate it very much! Thank you for all your hard work and effort on this.
|pmshirey||Question of Isaac Shannon|
Hi Todd, my name is Pam (Baker) Shirey. Issac Shannon was my 4th G-Grandfather. I've been doing family research on my family for some years now. I did a "Find a Grave" request for Issac and came across all this cool information that you have given on him. I see where you and i are related. :)
You referenced the Shannon family bible. My question for you is, did most of your information that you shared on Isaac, such as place of birth, etc.. come from that bible? I do most my research on Ancestry.com and a lot of what i find on him is conflicting.

Hello, Mr. Dean, I want to thank you for two things. First, I found myself smiling looking for "bright red flowers" thinking this was a great method for organizing. Also thank you for the transfer of the sunflower memorial :). Louis was my ggf's first cousin. It is a pleasure indeed to come across kind people on findagrave. Sincerely,

|K. Bowers||Merrin Transfers|
Thank you for the transfers. They are all my family and I have already been able to link then in. Of all of them Richard L. is my closest relative. He is my grandmother's first cousin. I just discovered his murder. There was a front page article in the Mansfield News. I don't have access to Mount Vernon papers, but would love to find his obituary. By all means continue your work on him. If, when you are done, you would like to transfer him to me, I'd be happy to take over management. Thanks again for all of your help!!
|Barbara Muir||Thanks for sharing your photos|
Many thanks for sharing your photos. It is a great help when researching my family tree. I live in Australia so ancestry.com and Find A Grave is such a great help. Barb Muir
